ScalesForLife Posted March 11, 2022 Share Posted March 11, 2022 Been thinking about it for a while now, and I know it's probably been suggested before, but at this point, what's the risk in a little "gather 'round kids! Grab your smart hats and a pencil!" event for a few community-inspired cosmetics for certain items / characters / etc. I've personally pictured it as the following: Klei could either give us a topic and have our imagination peak at its highest OR they could select us specific things, and have the community submit their works regarding XYZ. Winners, of course, would get selected and end up being added in-game. However, now that I am thinking about it, instead of that being a simple: Go to shop and grab the "community work" chest for skins, I've been thinking more of a shop, where each week a rotation system would add in new winner skins from the event (see following picture). To top it all, while the community shop items could be acquired for spools, I think an option to support Klei for hosting the event afterwards would be an amazing thing regardless And to top it all, wouldn't be amazing to have fellow musical artists design a custom song for the community shop? I'd kill, to hear how harmonious fellow Don't Starvers can fiddle with some classic 'ole instruments! Last but not least, I think in the end, it would be amazing to have all the participants mentioned in a huuuuuge post (with their submission attached to their name) for even as a contest, point in that is to have fun and shake hands with others! Could make for a really interesting set of ideas and skins. I could personally see a sort of steampunk inspired skin set working really well. Maybe they also thought of it but decided against it because it's making a boss drop look like a different boss, which could maybe confuse someone.
