Archswifter Posted March 11, 2022 Share Posted March 11, 2022 I don't know if it could be considered Qol but there are a few small things that I find myself dealing with as of late in the late game, particularly around the moonstorm event, those small things being the fact that charged moon glass breaking damages walls and fences or just spawn on top of them which prevents them from being mined to prevent them from breaking. This along with the birds spawned during the Wagstaff minigame can get stuck on certain structures while flying down like walls and in my case the houndius shootius making them basically impossible to kill unless you have Abigail with you. The smallest thing to end this being when Moongleams damaged one of the spiders in it's enclosed area the den lost it's decorations and they immediately started breaking down the walls around them, this is less of an issue with the moongleams though and more on the fact that any damage makes it so the den decorations fall off, including falling rocks from earthquakes which makes them being utilized underground impossible unless you're never near them or turn off earthquakes. The suggestions I can think of are maybe charged moon glass breaking only damages mobs and the player instead of everything around it. Maybe after the moonstorm ends in an area and moves on the birds could despawn with them after some time if the player isn't around or something. And I suppose the last one is similar to the first where mobs and players would affect whether or not den decorations fall off instead of any damage as it is currently. To end this post, if you've got any small problems or suggestions for them share them here, I'm curious to see what other issues players are having that are on the smaller side like mine. If Willow can have fire immunity, Wigfrid can eat goodies, Wickerbottom can have Silviculture, and Wanda can have shard-swapping teleports, Woodie should at least get to use his kit without being held back by a spoilage rate for items that already heavily penalize him. There's a lot of reasons why the Idols shouldn't spoil and how it hurts no one to remove the Idol's spoilage, but I don't want to end up writing a books-worth again. Also, kinda hard to convey emotions on a computer, so please don't take this as a demand or anything. If you're standing still, switching targets can be a nightmare. I would like to be able to hold F continuously and click between targets to seamlessly switch between them between swings (allowing me to, for example, reliably keep a group of spiders stunlocked) but it's just so incredibly janky. I've done some testing and if you hold F and try to click another target, it may take up to TEN swings just to switch. Even if you spam left click to attack, there's still jank (although not quite as bad.) The only way to do it reliably is to move in between swings, but this can be frustrating because if you mistime the movement you'll cancel your swing (which can be punishing in some situations, such as when relying on stunlock or relying on a shadow creature teleporting away after being struck.) Edit: also, let us switch characters at the celestial portal in the caves. I built it but never tried to switch characters at it. What purpose does it serve? I also wish the mushroom planter were to only cost one living log instead of two. This would not only help for decorative purposes, but also provides it better utility in early game (besides wormwood). For by the time you would get enough extra living logs to make mushroom planters, you would already become dependent on other food for hunger, sanity, health. The crafting recipe requires a dead mandrake, so deconstructing would give back a dead mandrake. The first being birds that occasionally fly down and leave behind seeds, most of the time I don't pay them any mind or even notice them leaving the seeds behind and they end up turning into rot eventually leading to random rot all over the place. I've seen this suggested at some point but maybe seeds, the generic one's anyway, could just disappear after they expire? Sort of how cookie crumbles and Ice works I mean. The second thing has to do with followers and allies, when directed to attack something they keep attacking it until it's dead, and for some reason this applies to walls and fences as well? It's a small thing but after dealing with it for long enough it starts to get annoying. I know I could probably just kill the follower/ally but this doesn't work if the mob itself is surrounded by others that attack you if you attack one of them or is a Houndius Shootius. Maybe a small change can be made so that allied mobs don't attack fences and walls if the player does? I don't think this is a big change since most people don't use them for this purpose anyway (right)?
