Sort of on topic of Moleworms but off topic of what they do in DST: Spelunky 2 just released on Xbox Gamepass yesterday and Moleworms are now my most hated thing in all of existence, I mean I hated them before too way back in DS Solo when they were able to steal Thermal Stones.. but since then they’ve become less of a nuisance to me UNTIL Yesterday.. now the next time I play DST I’m going to blow them up with Gunpowder based entirely on the way they make me feel in Spelunky 2.

Ahem.. anyways: Cool Video OP :) this will be educational to many forum members I’m sure. :wilson_love:

Good video. I would have brought more attention to the fact that they grab ice, gears, ash, and charcoal though instead of just lumping them in with minerals. Oftentimes I see people not realize and leave gears on the floor for random moleworms to take. Not that big of a deal since you can still see them in the piles.

The visual of the three inventory slots above the mole really helps describe exactly what its inventory works like. Great choice using full stacks of rocks to display so the point is clear.

I am planning to do lureplants next.
I feel like its a item many people use but only for very specific reasons.
lureplants are kind of the most unique item/ mob the player has at their disposal.
any suggestions people would like to add?

I think you should include that they used to be stackable and as such amazing for boating since you could just stack 8 or 9 on top of each other after placing all the other structures so you have infinite food without even using any space on the boat.

They changed it so you can't do that any more but I think it's important enough to preserve the history of in a video dedicated to them

I can only wonder what a Glommer Facts video would look like, I mean I already know glommer is cute, and occasionally poops, and bad people kill the poor lil bug because they're desperate for the 14 slot backpack.

I kill glommer so hard he dies 50 times concurrently.

I always leave glommer alive. I don't care about glommer himself, but I value his goop. Fuel, healing, insanity, fertilizer and most importantly, tree jam. I have at least two chests of goop in my 1472 day world.

At least you keep the lil cute fuzzy bug alive.

There really is not much to glommer other than that since there is no old bell tied to him in dst.
I might discuss the most optimal way to murder him honestly lol

I kill it to craft glom glom who is cuteness overload and has little snowflake sprites on its butt. I also don’t have to share glom glom with other players, or carry Glommers flower around in my inventory to keep it following me, it also can’t be killed when hounds, or depth worms or whatever spawns so that’s a plus too.

(im also convinced any creature tied to the moon cycle is evil..) I was hoping KLEI’s return of them update chain would’ve had a thing where charged moon lightning turned normally peaceful Glommer mutated and hostile, it would be as hilarious watching people experience that for the first time as it is crafting Goose Idols as Woodie and telling new dst players who pick woodie to “eat” the reaction I get from that is worth buying this game for people every single time.

Glom Glom is just over all better then Glommer, and Wendy’s own quote for inspecting it even shows “Remorse” for killing the Glommer to obtain him.

I mean if you just keep Glommer around for the Sanity then I guess it beats out Glom Glom, but I’ve had a personal grudge against Glommer ever since: Wendy wanted it to die.. & I can’t put a saddle on it and hover around the map.

I believe Depth Worms (on topic of worms) are also a curious/interesting case, especially their gathering and "eating" mechanic for its precise specs. They seem to munch almost everything on ground, including Grass and Twigs (making them alternative ok "farmers" for cave bases), plus - but this is a very old behavior - they could eat statues; I've witnessed long time ago one of them "gulping" some Bearger marble statue, which in turn made the worm move very slowly (after killing it, dropped said statue), perhaps a hint this mob has something akin to a "chest" inventory slot(?!). Also they appear to rot perishable items a lot faster after "eating".

I guess I'm steering clear of creature facts then before I die from depression.

well i am not planning on doing glommer any time soon lol
glommer had more use in single player with the old bell mechanic.
and the only reason there is a big method to get lots of krampus from him in dst is because of networking.
and how the game awards kills.
it would more likely be a video seperate from the topic of glommer itself.
however will probably still need to mention that murdering glommer  gives max naughtiness.

Yea perhaps for the rest if the series do note how much naughtiness killing each creature grants, I don't remember something like that for moleworm

Just watched the catcoon video.  Pros:  Lots of adorableness and some interesting facts.

Cons: Too many kitties dying all over the place.  Poor cute meat.  :(

(seriously, I've played as WIGFRID while living right next to a cat stump, and still wouldn't kill them.  What can I say, I'm a crazy cat lady cat person through and through.)

Here is a picture of Willow with now THREE kitties:

saharabayouandcharmander.thumb.png.bd19daded9939ce34e1e3487f4d94945.png

Li'l Sahara on the left, Charmander on the right, and in the middle, the new kitten on the block:  Bayou...whom I am REALLY tempted to go ahead and name "Marsha" instead.  You know, as in where it was found.  MARSHa.  ;) Also this is a lovely family portrait picture in general 'cos it ALSO has Chester _and_ Glommer!  Now all we need is the bird.

Spoiler

I now see what people mean about wanting the Ticoons to be immune to tooth traps, because to lead me to the swamp, he would not walk ANYWHERE ELSE but right on the traps (I even tried blocking him with my body and stepping on the unsprung traps myself to keep them only on the already-sprung ones) and I had to lose SO FREAKING MANY TICOONS.  I am not sure how many it was.  At least ten! The last one, the one that did make it to the swamp, still ALMOST died first...

Well, I will make it up to you, dear Ticoons.  I will treat Bayou/Marsha like she's my own daughter.
...a daughter with purple fur and spikes.
What?

...Notorious

I'd like to suggest a video on Mush Gnomes.

I've always wondered how their spawn mechanics worked. I've tried to find a way to efficiently farm them but all my attempts came up unsuccessful.

I am wondering if i should also post up small fact to help out in certain situations?
I usually do these in my daily gameplay  and they don't warrent full sized videos.
would you guys like that too?
here is an example with how to quickly kill spider queens.
