Here's some trivia about gun powder production:
If the player doesn't want to use toadstool to spoil eggs faster for some reason, they could also capture one of the birds from the Moonstorm event. Said birds will give you a rotten egg instead of a regular one when fed meat.

What else are you gonna use nitre on? Frog legs, monster meat, morsels (bird or splumonkey farm), etc can supply the eggs so it's not particularly expensive. Adds a good amount of easy damage to bosses if you ever stun them. You're probably sleeping dfly every rage phase anyways so may as well drop some gunpowder to wake her up. Sleeping BQ is also a common strategy, so gunpowder fits in with little effort there. Other bosses aren't slept as much but you get tons of sleep in this game and from what I've seen it typically goes pretty unused. Sleep a boss, safely heal, safely sing Wigfrid songs, safely craft anything else you need, wake it up with gunpowder.

I don't typically use it because I like fighting bosses, not killing bosses, so speeding up the fights isn't usually what I want to be doing. But I can see the use of it.

True, but that's late-game, after getting all Moon Altars up and starting Lunar Storms. Toad strat can be done first 10 days.

I'd say that doing this long world with an intent to automate and relax has led to me using stuff like gunpowder a lot more than I normally would...because I don't at all on public/rush worlds.

There's just too much meat when you start setting up a megabase, haha. Hounds come in large enough waves to overflow the supply on their own. Beef can be relocated via a bell; slaughter via Ol' One-Eye and replace, nice boost of actual meat. And Lureplants...good god, Leafy Meat being usable in a crockpot now is strong. Combine with the MM for more guaranteed Bacon than one person can eat...

So uh. My birds eat well.

Last time, I ended up making gunpowder just to condense some supplies for chest space.

Gunpowder is very good for the third phase of the celestial champion. it just sits still and shoots laser. its super easy to hit with gunpowder, and kiting that boss normally is hell. Normally if you kill something with gunpowder, it's items will burn to ash, but none of the celestial champion's items will burn so it's fine.

Might have to do this instead of using darts during winters feast for the sweet new ornament we should be getting!

well yes, but actually no - there was an exploit that allowed to mine moonglass infinitely because moon ponds refilled at full moon every time they were mined.

Now they refill only once per full-moon night.

and how much glass drops CC

the only thing that can save them is adding a tons more of glass recipes and adding all the gems to the drop chance instead of just blue and red (like we need more sources of these gems...)

but there wasnt any change futher than the first one where they change how the water respawns

Show me someone who doesn't want more glass recipes!! Seriously pretty sure everyone expected at least a few new nice ones with CC update.. 

I never knew you could mine them non-stop during a full moon originally.

Also yep forgot CC drops a boatload too. Even more reason to kill him a bunch during Winters Feast, especially with the sick Terraprisma skin. I'm seriously using Glass cutters a ton now just cause that skin is so amazing.

in my long term world i have storing problems so i started using them isntead of darkswords so in that way i also save living logs to teleport decorative mobs. Now with the skin is a must xD

Nice one. I made too many knight statues on my recent shadow pieces farm/exploit and now I have a stupid amount of dark swords to burn through eugh.. at least dark sword also got a nice new skin lol

Although i still didn't played the new Terraria update, i heard the meta shifted too much that now you need to kill those two fast in a new world because the new drops are cool and strong? It is true?

wdym "meat shifted"? the only thing they did with meat was changing the morsel + 3 ice recipe to give bunny stew instead of meatballs (37.5 hunger and 20 hp instead of 62.5/3)

Yea, the new mask is like football helmet but repairable with food-ish items, and the shield is weapon+armor, which also can be fed to regen its durability

ajahahahhaha i meant "meta", not "meat" xD.  I don't think they shifted any "meat" of Don't Starve.... for what i know

I can't say that they are meta - dark sword, hambat, thuli crown/suit, night armor, glass cutter are still better, cuz shield has a damage of a tentacle spike and a helm has a durability and defense of football helm iirc. 

but an eye of terror gives you some milky whites which have a 1 point of milk, so maybe it can be a good thing to rush, but idk
