The bonfire was a complex mechanic only in DS and then only in winter.  Alas, DST is losing its uncompromising nature from year to year.
Making a campfire would be a really difficult task if the game didn't have the silly mechanics of transplanting plants, which takes away the motivation to run around the map and extract resources.
+ Bearger exist lol.

Why might a whirlpool be located far from a lunar island? The only way to reach an ancient shrine is through a whirlpool. As we know, an ancient shrine is the top level of an ancient archive, which, in turn, is always located near a lunar mushroom biome. The lunar mushroom biome, in turn, is a lunar island on the surface. So why might a whirlpool appear at the other end of the map, far from the lunar island?

Same reason why two sinkholes a screen away from each other on the surface drop you off on opposite sides of the caves.

Well, I can still explain this somehow. One passage, for example, was excavated, say, at about a 45-degree angle. And the other, leading to the other end of the map, was excavated due to the difficulty of crushing the rock underground. Considering that the caves are located at the level of the ancient archives, it's safe to assume that the passage leading to the caves' exit was excavated at the level of the ancient sanctuary. And so, slowly descending through the second crater, we arrive at the other end of the map.

Something like this:

Another question: how does light get into the caves if there are no holes on the surface (except for sinkhole), and there is only ocean around the continent). While there is one heart-shaped hole on the surface (like in the Valentine's Day video), it would be great if one of the sinkholes was replaced with a heart-shaped hole (which always appears in the swamp) leading into the cave in only one direction, making it impossible to exit the cave through that hole (like a whirlpool).

In general, to solve this problem (with the whirlpool), I think developers need to make it appear not too close to the lunar island, but not too far away either (at the other end of the map). If we do this, we can roughly predict where it will appear.

Guys as I remember one of updates promised new set pieces, but then developers mentioned they'll deliver it later. What's the situation, do we have new set pieces or it was forgotten?

they did mention it but it was not presented in update or in any of following patches ..

If i give a warepig syrup of ipecaca will it make manure and panic? If it does make manure will it eat other things like lightbulbs and make more manure? If it eats multiple ipecaca does the effect stack?

They just panic and ignore food after the first ipecaca. They can fully utilize 2 but will transform back after eating a third. Kinda dissapointing tbh.

When the hell is Hallowed Nights? I look forward to this one event (& the hopefully cool spooky skins that come with it) eagerly waiting for it year round!

I predict it comes out next Thursday. I think there is a smaller chance it comes out this Thursday.

Now that DST is confirmed to be coming to next generation consoles (at least the PS5) my question is this:

Will Klei start treating the game as a newly released next Gen game that should see steady support & content updates like most newly released games tend to?
Or will they treat it as a game that’s been around for 10+ years & has pretty much ran its course so naturally it receives less support than a newer title they’ve released?

At the very least i think this is a sign there going to keep supporting the game for as long as theyre able. I dont think theyre slowing down support in any capacity or im pretty sure they would have told us.

Tldr: Its not indicative of anything im sure.

Live service games tend to get around the same support regardless of how long they've been out.

Neither. It will continue with the same update pace as normal, just like it coming out on Nintendo Switch didn't change the frequency of updates at all.

What do you mean "start treating"? The game does see a steady stream of content updates. I started playing in 2019, when the game was 3 years old, and since then a million things have been added to it. You sure you're not confusing DST for DS?

Just because they don't roll out new skill trees, or bosses every month, does not mean the game has run its course.

I really like that Klei is taking their time, focussing on quality, instead of releasing half-baked content.

I mean content updates that will be exclusive to the next Gen hardware (switch is actually weaker than an ps4 or Xbox One by the Way) when the game re-releases on Switch 2, it’ll be the PS5, Xbox Series Equivalent.

Updates that simply wouldn’t be possible on last Gen consoles due to it causing severe performance issues and game crashing.

If you read the PS5 description for dst it already has SOME in game features that are exclusive to PS5 but aren’t possible on PS4 (such as for example the larger world setting)

It’s probably safe to assume they’ll do things like realistic wind blowing leaves off trees, water ripples or waves crashing into the edges of land etc…

Since there’s already an option to host larger worlds that weren’t possible on PS4, I’m going to assume this is where they’ll reserve updates for PS5 version.

big things too: such as elevated land, not just the smaller updates we’ve been getting 3-4 months at a time.

Is that really a new "feature" though Mike? Making the world larger? Making a world bigger doesnt add more content... and it actually makes the early game more cumbersome imo.

Edit: I guess it is a feature. I stand corrected.

This has been a feature on PC for as long as world settings have existed. It's not exclusive to PS5, it's just that the PS5 is powerful enough to handle some PC-exclusive features.

PC isn’t even part of the equation here, pc is a whole other topic they have “system requirement specs” you can Upgrade A PC with new Hardware, you can not legally upgrade a PS4 with new Hardware, so I meant *exclusive between console platforms and its only possible to PS5 & unavailable on PS4.

7 Days to Die on Xbox Series S consoles is two player MAXIMUM, these are console limits that PC players (unless your on a dinosaur PC…) never have to take into Account.

also are these lil' guys new? i was chopping rocks on the first day of summer and got spooked by shadowy spiders popping out of the rocks the same way bats do when cutting trees! the art style looks newer like the ickers and i'm using the same mods i always use for stacking and displaying so i dont think it is that

Yep! It was added this Hallowed Nights. There's one more silly "jumpscare" like this to find while working, spoilered in case you'd like to stumble on it naturally:

Spoiler

Digging graves sometimes spits out a bunch of wiggling worms.
