Does anyone on these forums actually play Minecraft?

I haven’t played it in awhile but yesterday I decided to give it another go.

And to my surprise the game has changed ALOT… it now has a “Journal” just like DST that fills in craftables as you encounter resources & unlock new recipes.

This isn’t the ONLY Similarities Minecraft now has a new resource called “Copper” that creates Animal Brushes & Lightning Rods.

Is it possible that Klei’s Ideas for DST are finally starting to influence development of the juggernaut that is Minecraft??

Yeah this isn't even their current update Mike, bad take.

Alot will have changed if you've missed several updates. Isn't it crazy that my brothers are taller now? It's been decades since they were short but could it be that tall people have finally started to influence them? I'll keep you all posted on this new crazy phenomenon as it progresses.

Isn't the brush for archaeology anyway?

Lightning Rods

Lightning rods exist in real life for much of the same purpose incase you may not've known friend mike. Sort of thing that sounds obvious but of course i've been there as a kid.

hey do brightshade bombs have the same effect on the new lunar bosses as the brightshade staff?

they deal planar damage, so yes (although the shorter range is gonna make them slightly harder to use)

Can you use a boat cannon against bee queen and win if you keep her restrained? (Like with a Maxwell going at it)

hypothetically yea, but you would have to lock her with a shadow prison due to the 'aoe' the cannon deals (cannons will hit anything that is its trajectory, so locking her with moles shouldn't work)

itd also take more resources since boat cannons only do 200 damage per cannon

It can work with AOE damage when the cannonball lands, just need to aim in a way that it only damages bee queen.

You can use monkeys to fire the cannons if your world gen is good.

When does Hallowed Nights 2023 start?

We don’t have an official date, but the stream for Host of Horrors said the beta should last a few weeks, which would mean the full update might come out on the 19th, so that’s my guess on when Hallowed Nights will start.

anyone know if there any "survivalist" streamer in dst?
well they that so called survivalist in the forum were so loud but i still cant get gasp on how they play on long term or they just do refresh start after 200 days?
kinda curious. also its a good content for people who think they are survivalist of dst to showcase how to be a true survivalist right(?)

Come this thursday the beta will have been out for two weeks right? While I do hope they iron out any issues/make change they agree with that forum users have made etc I would REALLY like to play the new update myself (console) sooner rather than later haha

Honestly I think "Survivalist players" are basically just Boss Rushers/Rushers who try to finish killing all bosses or certain bosses or certain content as fast as possible, casuals who don't get enough time to play till late game/don't care to and constantly start new worlds because they enjoy the early game the most or new players who are still learning.

I really don't think there are players who keep worlds into the thousands of days but continue to live nomadic, always on the go lives in the constant without ever making more than a small meargre base. The logical progression is to build up and terraform and make new farms/setups/set pieces of your own/shrines/bases. The game would get extremely boring and stale surviving into thousand day counts without actually building anything up and having any projects to work on. Surely no one actually legitimately does this? I'm happy to be proved wrong with evidence (screenshots of people in the thousands of days count with small meagre bases and barely any/no terraforming/setups etc.

Which honestly just makes it that much more frustrating that they have such strong opinions on really late game content because they literally experience it for such a short inconsequential amount of time then off they go to start a new world or boss rush or whatever, they don't have to deal with it for thousands of in-game years and deal with the actual consequences and fall out it creates. They just want to experience the mob killing hail etc for the single in-game year they actually play through after they beat CC etc.

yeah. when the late game stuff were added that being targeted to player that sticks to one world for hundreds or thousands of days, make me wonder how survivalist play in late game.

what they do in between killing bosses? is all they do is killing bosses and refueling flingomatics? wait ...do they use flingomatics? doesnt that nullify the hazard?
man, if anyone want to stream i want watch so bad . im curious..

Hamlet question: Is there any way Were-Wilba can cross a pond? I keep getting worlds where the ruins with the calendar are on the other side of a pond, which softlocks Were-Wilba in an eternal Aporkalypse...

We should’ve gotten an Announcement post today from MR JoeW that the update was coming Next Week if the update was coming next week, and since no such post has been made yet- I’m assuming the update isn’t actually coming next week.

Which makes me sad, cause I’m not even really all that interested in the Host of Horrors update, I mean sure it’s cool I guess…

But Where the Frick are the cool new Hallowed Nights character/belonging skins and the art submission contest?

I think there have been times where the updates were announced on a Monday so perhaps keep your hopes up until then?

As a console player God I hope it comes soon, so eager to fight the new lunar bosses and get the new mega items. Also keen to do some decorating with all the new decorative items. Alan Wake 2 releases on 27th which I'm pretty keen for so I hope I can mess around with the new DST update a bit before that releases.

Ok, so I ask it there.

I have one question that is a bit off this topic but don't know where to ask that becouse it's not entirely a "bug" but rather a small issue for me.
Is there a way to add little change to how "nautopilot beacon" work. That if I pair it with one and set it turned off or on and left server and came back, they will "remember" to be turned off or on as i previously set?
All of that is becouse when I set some structures on few boats and connect all of them and then leave it, go somewhere far, they will "glitch" and then when i came back there is a chance that most of the boats will be destroyed and structures moved from where i placed them or also destroyed. I'm not entirely sure why this is happening but for me it's becouse working nautopilot provide small movement to boats, they are close to each other and if player is far enough they probably glitch and try to "simulate that movement" which leads to swimming on each other and breaking boats or they are damaging themselves like they will bump other ones.
As I said don't know if this is the real problem but if i could turn off nautopilots like they are not paired (which stop any possible movement) and be sure that when i came back another day the base will still be there undamaged. It would be great.
Little addition to this. I don't want that they all will be set "off" on server start becouse this will break "circle brigdes" some players build on their worlds. Just give an idea to add little on/off memory to nautopilot beacons.

I was thinking hypothetically if the was a unnatural alignment would powder monkeys and crusashines be aligned to it and if so would it manifest as causing less damage think the other two alignments or do to there not being a counter part to it would it just manifest as them not bothering or being bothered by players of the same alignment

They would be aligned to the moon since they live on the Moon-quay.

I figured what if the way the the unnatural alignment works is they can double up on alignments and it’s a bit weird they haven’t given them an alignment yet + the alignment of the energy being converted could effect how it works like for example giving the products of the unnatural energy that is converted form lunar energy to have a instinctual need to worship the moon
