Any plans on updating Klei Rewards?

roasete sail is not from twitch drops if i remember correctly

So they only going to update it with stuff from twitch, and I'm ending up without Roseate Sail for eternity?

That hurts. Badly. Love it so much.

Don't worry, they never said only stuff from twich drops. It's announced as a mechanism where you can obtain now unobtainable stuff; potentially past loyal items like Bottomless pit and roseate sail. That said, they never touched the shop since it was released so I have my doubts and fears that klei abandoned it and it'll take some time before they make updates to it.

Please Klei, I want my Stone Kiln and Carved Stone torch.

It never says only missed twitch drops. And half of the posts there are cheer-posts for Bottomless Pit.

You're not going to get it, its an item for people that played during Early Access. I 100% doubt that they're going to add anything other than Twitch drops, especially for thinks like the bottomless pit. You're just getting your hopes up, it wouldn't even make sense for them to give EVERYONE access to rewards that are supposed to be special. Think of it like giving people the option to buy a pre-order exclusive for free.

I already got that skin so it's not my fight but I don't see why they wouldn't make them available- they did that in the past; with the tragic torch. I had missed the skin, but then it returned. All the previous owners of the skin got theirs upgraded to timeless quality and people like me who solved the puzzle first time got a royal one.

I can easily see them doing the same on bottomless pit & other past loyals, granting everyone who owns them a timeless quality versions that can be sold on steam marketplace to conserve the price, just like the heirloom quality skins of reworked characters.

What I truly desire is the Stone Kiln and Carved Stone Torch and if Klei turns back to the rewards system, they might make them happen; apparently they aren't even in the steam version of the game yet.

There’s no Steam Trade shop on Console.. so having a rarity value on skins is completely pointless, unless Unraveling them gives you more spools then normal or something... other than that it’s yet another completely useless PC Feature that Microsoft & Sony would never allow.

It makes me slightly upset that the reason I can’t weave the items I want on Console is because of some non-Existent trade thing that exists on PC, I Have nothing against PC players.. I used to be one myself- But when PC Interferes with my own personal Enjoyment of the game it is.. ... discouraging to say the very least. :(

Yes skins Aren’t the end of the world.. and they do nothing in terms of Gameplay, But that still won’t stop me from wishing I had the option to weave everything that I can see in the curio cabinet (even if it costs a ridiculous amount of spools in doing so) They promised that consoles would be getting a better way of obtaining skins, and so far- there’s been nothing else said about it.

I want the Winters-feast Lantern, Wendy Lureplant head, Funko Pop Funeral Beekeeper Hat, And the Creepy Cauldron. all of which aren’t weaveable so I will have to rely on daily gift drops and pray the RNG gods are finally kind enough to grant them to me.

I would love to have another chance getting year of the varg winter hat and the heart skin with sword in it, i couldn't play the time it was avaible sadly.

that's different, its an activity not an event or something like playing during beta

Well, now you're making an artificial distinction between an activity of puzzle solving and an activity of logging in on a valentines day. Besides not "EVERYONE" will have the items. Klei rewards truly encapsulate the meaning of "loyal" items, it literally involves the fans loyally doing Klei's bidding by supporting it on social media for some skins like an army of zombies. Also the loyalty points are truly finite and only Klei holds the power to add aditional ways to get points. Especially that big pile of spools is a pointgrab. Only those with enough points to spare will able to obtain such loyal items like bottomless pit, stone kiln, stabbed heart, winter lantern, roasette sail etc.- those who own them would have the adventage of only getting items the don't have while those lacking many would have to choose. Take this fact, and the fact previous owners will get timeless skins; into consideration, and you'll see that putting expired loyal items to the store will only benefit Klei by having more loyal followers stepping on each other to do some social media chores for Klei just for a skin or two.

This reeks of In-Game Microtransactions..

I love the game, but I play it BECAUSE it doesn’t have an annoying Microtransaction currency systems- I’ve stopped playing games I put over 120$ into such as Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition Because of their Microtransaction system.. that’s just how much I despise them, pretty sure I’d stop playing completely if it became yet another Wallet bleeding Microtransaction DLC fiasco.

As much as I love the skin cosmetics, I simply can NEVER agree with a game that has a 99$ Currency purchase option.

First off its ******* cosmetics (except for the 4 characters), Klei is too generous and barely makes any money off of events. During the forge or gorge (forgot which one it was) they earned almost no money because most of the skin purchases went to keeping the event servers up. So they needed something to get more people to buy not only that but YOU CAN LITERALLY GET EVERYTHING FOR FREE

Lmao thats one way to waste your money "I spent a lot of money on this game so i wont play it anymore" unless you mean the game dies off in which case you obviously shouldn't spend money on games with a short lifespan like COD

Its extremely unjust for you to hate a game because it has a 99$ currency option, I mean there are people who want to bulk by skins/chest so what are we just gonna force them to buy the 5$ one 20 times? Of course not, you don't have to spend that much money. Show me an example of one game with premium currencies that doesn't have a 99$ option.

Most games I choose to play don’t have a premium currency option, it’s pretty simple really :)

And are most games you play single player and offline with a base $60 fee?

Klei is indie, the game is $15 FOR TWO COPIES, and all cosmetics/characters can be unlocked for free...

(Plus they are constantly updating the game and keeping up servers, should they just do this for free?)

Just now, JustCrimson said:

Nah, there’s Ark Survival Evolved, State of Decay 2, Resident Evil, Dying Light, Minecraft, Need For Speed Rivals, Steep.

my point is that not every game that exists on consoles is out to provide us with wallet bleeding Microtransactions

people seem to take for granted just how much money 100$ really is, and IF you have children are you really going to let them waste 100$ of your money on some silly Fortnite cosmetics? I hope the answer is no...

but then again- I’m pretty old and I remember a time where when you buy a product you get what was advertised when you bought it, you don’t have the entire game changed for better/or for worse 2 or 3 years later.

My enjoyment of a game is My own opinion and YOU can’t change that- some people hated Woodies Rework, others loved it- but that does not in any way change the fact that some people may have bought the game to play as Old Woodie, and then BaM Klei changes it suddenly out of the blue (For better or worse)

Dude if you wanna talk to me you need to know and understand what playing Super Mario was like on the SNES.. The younger generation accepts and embraces these Microtransaction processes, Older people like myself wishes they would go burn in the fiery flaming pits of hell where they belong.

TL:DR- If I had to pay 1$ per life in Super Mario or 20$ for the P-Wing Suit n Super Mario Bros 3, I would’ve put the controller down and stopped playing games entirely,

Actually, it was available to anyone who logged into DST after that EA. I never participated in it and got it.

I understand not wanting those items added because of this sense of "deserving the item", but ultimately, I'd be ok if Klei decided to add these items, because I know I'd love to acquire them if I wasn't able to before.

The difference here is that these micro-transactions are purely cosmetic. Lives and suits in Mario are related to gameplay, and gameplay is untouched by money in DST. This is more akin to "buy a new suit to Mario that doesn't give him any different skills, he just looks fancy".

You don't need to buy it if you don't want to, and if you have kids, just don't save the credit card info on your console.

This is also incorrect, the game was about 30$ At launch and you DO NOT get a free second copy.

i had to buy this game 4x for me and family to play together.

please quit comparing the PC Version to Console, they simply aren’t the same.

Loyal stuff like bottomless pits etc are rewards for something like beta testing or buying dlc. This will never be obtainable for mortals

BOI

The golden spools are literally spools but for console and used to make skins due to Sony needing to confirm EVERY single transaction, Klei just yeets in the spools so you don't need to wait 2 days for a transaction and just buy the spools-en-masse and you can do whatever you want with it

That is confusing, so there’s 2 different types of spools? Red and Gold?

Besides color... what the heck is the difference? o.O

So, to the best of my understanding, every time Klei wants to make a skin pack purchasable on Console they have to go through a series of checks/authorizations/whatever before it actually becomes available—which is a huge buffer for time.

So to remedy this what they're doing is getting one (or a few) purchasable "Box Bolt" packs authorized and made available to then use for all future skin packs. That way they don't need to go through the same time consuming process each time.

So for example: If you wanted to get a Skin Pack for $20 instead you'd buy $20 worth of Box Bolts and use that.

The same amount of money will end up being used (I assume), so ultimately nothing really changes on our end—but it means that Klei can pump out new skin packs and whatnaught much quicker.

I mentioned in a previous announcement that Console would be getting a virtual currency.

As others have mentioned in the thread, the reason for this is because the amount of time and preparation it takes to get cosmetic items on console has caused them to be severely behind everybody else. Anything we put up on console has to go through the cert process just like a DLC and the process takes a lot of time. The virtual currency allows it to work through a different process that would allow us to make as much available on consoles as PC players have.

Otherwise for each big update we would have to add 18-20ish DLCs (each requiring I believe it is 30-45 minutes setup time just to do the submission) not to mention image assets and such for each store. This means, resource wise we have only been able to add a couple bundles each update. Where as on PC they have tons of options for how they can obtain these items.

This isn't a signal that we're doing anything remarkably different or offering anything new - it's just what I said previously on multiple occasions, we're trying to offer as much for Console as we are for PC.
