All otherworldly entities of the Constant Pantheon

Recommended Posts

I would have been wanting to do this topic since some time: what are all the otherworldly Constant creatures at the moment?
Charlie became one of them after being dragged into the Codex Umbra, apparently queen and malign deity of the Constant;
Gnaw is a hideous row of teeth looming in the sky; celestial tyrant who threatens to release his pestilence in case of lack of nourishment;
The ancients, beings similar to large humanoid insects with incredible intellect. They created a glorious civilization that self-destroyed during some catastrophe, perhaps a disastrous experiment, perhaps they were exterminated by "Them".
"Them", entities that perhaps are shadows, are perhaps something even more alien. Behind the scenes of reality they move invisible threads, all are slaves of "Them" in the Constant.
Shadows, creatures of other spaces and dimensions attracted by madness. Their nature and essence is uncertain and alien. Maybe they are an avatar of "Them".
Nightmare Throne, mysterious throne that seems endowed with a form of life and self-knowledge.
Moon creature, mysterious otherworldly creature with a beating heart, which perhaps exists and inhabits the moon. Perhaps he is responsible for all the mysterious transformations that occur every full moon.
Celestial Portal, like the throne of the nightmare, a disturbing portal of lunar rock, with an alien iridescence and a lively pupil that suggests both live and self-knowledge.
Ancient Fuelweaver, a horrible skeleton revived by the bowels of the earth, among whose ribs the putrefied heart of a thousand damned souls beats. Pray the players to leave him alone and believe that death would be a blessing for them.
Ancient Herald, an omen of the end of the world, its arrival coincides with the Aporkalypse and the arrival of all sorts of monstrous creatures.
Iron Hulk, mysterious war machine with incredible destructive potential. Destroyed by some unknown entity, it was perhaps built to fight the Ancient Herald and the Aporkalypse.
For the moment these superhuman entities came to my mind, I hope to expand the list and information on each of them!

"They were all dead when I got here."

I would just like to point out the Gnaw isn't technically in the constant but perhaps at one point had some influence into it from the gorge (likely through the ancient gateway)

You also forgot to mention Metheus

A long theory I've been having for a while now (which runs off of Zeklo's theories) is that the Fuelweaver is the ancient shown in the murals with the cane and Metheus is the one with the torch

I'm not sure that the Constant has some well-defined limits: are we sure that The Gorge was set in another plane of existence that was other and not always the Constant?
However I like your theory.

By what do you mean this? While there has been very little evidence as to what Metheus could be it is very much a real thing in the universe as shown by the Fuelweavers quotes.

Metheus is a name mentioned by the Fuelweaver.

There are fan-theories, but they aren't a fan creation.

I don't really have any big, complicated, tie EVERYTHING together theories, but I gotta say:

Hamlet villages look a lot a LOT like non-broken-down versions of the one in the Gorge.

(in fact, my filename for this screenshot is even "gorgecity.png".)

So....they might've been connected at ONE point...?  I mean, there's even pigeons in Hamlet.  PIGEONS, I say!  Sure, they're very common in real life, but in the game's world...s?  Not so much.

...Notorious

Do you mean shadow creatures? Most likely they are Ancients changed by Nightmare Fuel. Also I don't think Ancients are otherworldly. Imho they came here from the Hamlet and are related to Mants.

Personaly, I'm leaning towards the theory that Metheus is Monster Charlie or Charlie's real name. Not specially Ancient Queen, but rather someone other. Maybe one of Them?

As far as I know Constant is one of the "Realms". Some exaples of other realms known by now are Forge, Elder Bog and Shadow Realm. Every realm has its throne and ruler. For Constant it's Charlie, for Forge - Pugna (who also should be included as "otherworldly" if Charlie is), rulers for two other are uknown.

I think Metheus is the one with the cane. We got the Cyclum and Metheus puzzle. I am assuming both are the names of ancients (not necessarily the ones in the mural). Note that in the Cyclum puzzle we get the shadow tragic torch, while in the Metheus one we get the ancient cane.

For more proof. We know the ancient fuelweaver is NOT Metheus because they apologize to them in battle, so the AFW should be Cyclum (though there could be more ancients). In the murals, the ancient with a torch seems to be able to keep the shadows at bay (possibly controlling them) protecting the figure with a cane, while the figure with the cane seems to be slowly succumbing to Them (insane); we are aware that the AFW is able to control the shadows to an extent. They even drop a specific item on defeat: the shadow thurible, which is mostly a more fancy torch that let's you control the AFW in their other 2 forms.

This makes sense be cause of the hot air ballon I’m assuming Wilson makes in the normal constant and maybe wheeler came from the real world on her balloon

about wheeler (i think this is irrelevant to topic then i put it there)

Spoiler

i think wheeler is based on Amelia  Earhart(also amy adams playing her role in night at the museum 2 movie)

you can read more here ...

Maxwell says that redbirds come from the fire lands

It's also possible (though not explicitly confirmed) that the Elder Bog is also the source of the Merms, who are said to have been in the Constant before any humans, even Maxwell. Fueling this theory is that many of the original residents of the Elder Bog supposedly disappeared into the ocean. So, birds aren't the only entities apparently able to travel between realms without the use of portal technology.

Speaking of birds, while Maxwell's redbird quote claims they come from "the firelands", it's worth mentioning he's not sure how crows, snowbirds, or canaries came to the Constant.
