Power free. 5x4 sterilising room

I've noticed that the chlorine gets deleted too when I put a slime container in a caustic biome.  I wonder if it is related to the pressure Neotuck used in his room (2.1 kg/tile which prevents slime from outgassing).

Oh I forgot to update @Neotuck about this issue. So I tried again, and this time it didn’t delete chlorine while germs in reservoirs are killed, my chlorine was 500+ g pressure. However, killing germs in open air gases will cost chlorine rapidly I think.

Okay guys, hope you don't mind that archeology reply, but being ONI newbie the only open question about @Neotuck 4x5 sealed setup is very simple: how to legitimately FILL IT in with chlorine and then seal with no other gases in? preferrably early to mid game option with no crazy late game stuff like plastic or steel. One more supplemental - what concentration (or pressure?) of Chlorine is enough to kill germs in that setup? Thanks!

A few mcg of chlorine per tile is all that's needed to kill germs.  As far as filling the room and sealing it the easy way would be to build the U of the room and put a pump and vent to drop chlorine into it since it's heavier than Oxygen it will push the oxygen out.  Let it fill up to the top then build the tiles over it.  If you get CO2 at the bottom you could put in a airflow tile and it will leak out the CO2 and some chlorine then change the tile to solid once all the Co2 has dropped out.

It's actually 4X4 but here's some screenshots of how I build it

how to legitimately FILL IT in with chlorine

1. build water lock

2. vacuum the room

3 build a storage compactor set it to sweep only and to storing consumable ore, bleach stone

4. dig one piece of bleach stone and sweep it

Alternatively, excavate the room.

Actually, I didn't specify how the room should be vacuumed. Excavating is one, filling it up with tiles and decontruction them is another, or just using a pump. There's a few other ways to make a room a vacuum but those are certainly the easiest and most popular.

Wow guys @FiannaTiger, @Saturnus and esp. @Neotuck for the step by step guide - THANKS a lot!.. TBH I did not expect any kind of response at all, but it seems like ONI community is way nicer than for other games!..

A bit OFF topic (or not?) over here though: is it necessary to mix W & PW while making liquid lock? @JohnFrancis in his latest playthrough makes the same with just W... or there's something me as newbie just does not realize YET? Thanks in advance for the explanations!

Using 1 liquid uses a lot more material than 2 (or more) liquids.

Three reasons

First is I pump the liquid though the loop to fill the bathroom system and if I used only water or only PW then there would be over 1000kg and that's too much considering one packet in a pipe is only 10kg. By layering it I can stack the liquids, and use much less.

Second water on top prevents the PW from off gassing into PO2 and getting mixed in the chlorine

Third, sending germ free PW past the germ sensors helps prevent it from getting stuck in the "ON" settings
