My Setup

Bedtime of only 2 will cause high stress, because your dupes will not be rested well. 

Second, the go from work directly to bed, so they have to return the complete way home within the sleeptime. (in a microbase manageable, but later impossible)

Same goes for downtime. Your dupes will call it a day, rush back to the meeting point, have some fun, and then go back to work? Wasted time.

No bathtime? When are they supposed to go to the toilet/shower?

 

I figured out, the best solution (even in later, bigger bases) for me is:

3x downtime, 3x sleeping and then 2x bathroom in a row. Rest: Work. That way they never get tired, starving or pee in the pants, and always have a good morale.

Pretty much agree with this guy, I also use a similar schedule: 2x bathroom then 3x Downtime then 2x Sleep and it works flawlessly so far (Cycle 600+).

 

TIP: if you use comfy beds, dupes regenerate stamina much faster than cots, so 2x blocks of sleep is more than enough.

They go whenever they need to during rec time (usually first thing they do), and more rec time= more morale. Bathtime is essentially useless right now.

Are you playing with hard settings ? Because I've never seen dupes getting stress from 2 hours of sleep. If it's time to wake up and a dupe still doesn't have 100% stamina, he will stay in bed until he's ready.

If you don't give them bath time, they will only take showers when they finished with the other rec activities.

With the amount of DT he gave them, this will never happen, and he will miss on +3 morale bonus.

I agree, my usual setup is 4 rec 2 sleep. Dupes have time to do everything this way and get +3 morale.

IMO the default schedule is the most efficient in most cases. Because most people build a central base, with toilet/bath and downtime facilities near their bedrooms, thus dupes will waste the least amount of time travel between those tasks. 

The worst thing about the OP schedule is separating your downtime, which IMO would only cause dupes to waste extra time walking from task to task and not much else.  Also starting the morning with toilet/bath should reduce the likelihood of dupes get the need during work time and again save time.

later in game when I need extra shifts, I just copy the default schedule just 1 hour forward

This is what I'm currently using.  I have 4 schedules with sleep times never over-lapping, but with a somewhat large leisure break.  This lets my dupes interact with some of the other buildings and has really helped my morale.

Thanks for letting me know my schedule won't let me arrange for bonuses I can't get right now(don't even have mess hall up yet), but when it comes time to implement i will adjust and share as necessary.  Commenting your "problems" with someones setup without doing your own testing just makes people upset or defensive for no reason.   Yall talkin about cycle 600 my base on cycle 6 they have drastically different needs but my dupes get all of their needs and aren't super stressed(can send them in the water atleast twice per cycle) so for someone getting started 2 blocks of sleep and 2 blocks of down time letting them having a researcher on meal lice and muck root is awesome. The reason I put the block of work after sleep was really for "over sleepers" and what not, give them time to "wake up" before going to bathroom or break room.

the reason for the block where everyone is lined up was so that everyone had a chance to hang out atleast 1 per day and get some socializing in.

Personally, I haven't used auto priority.  I tested it for a bit, but I'm too much of a control freak.  I prefer to manage my dupe priorities manually.  Generally only "Life Support" and "Toggle" are set to maximum.  Everything else is on a per-dupe basis.

They don't take showers in rec time as far as I know.  I use bath time right after they sleep for the showered morale bonus.  Showering doesn't take as long as it used to.  I usually assign one block sleep and 4 blocks bath time because they work during bath time if there aren't bathtime activities needed.  They sleep until they wake up (meaning narcoleptics wake up earlier), and then they can take a shower and work.

They do take showers during rec time, but now that the morale bonus disappears during sleep it makes sense to set it when they wake up.

Really?  I thought it was 24 hours.  So would it be better to have sleep and then rec?   I have had a bath segment but apparently that can move to rec time....

Ok.  I did some testing so I am glad for this thread. 

Bath time is meaningless.  For breaktime, they always go toilet, eat, shower (in that order), and then exprersso, then arcade/disco.

If you breaktime before bed, you waste shower morale boost as it resets when they awake.  I have always used bath, then break time before bed, but this is terrible!).  You can go bath after bed but only one slot is not enough for bath and shower.  Also, you lose the breaktime bonus so using 2 bath would be crazy.

2 bed slots is fine, even with regular beds, except that now I start with that, I use 3 since there is no "return to base" command and they can burn one cell easily just getting home.

So my new schedule will be:

3 bed, followed by 4 breaktime

(0 bath)

 

Edit: Seems toilet+hands wash = 1 slot; shower=1 slot; eat = 1 slot each

Also playing around with not using 3 beds slots I tried:

1break, 2 bed, 3 break;  This then gives piss, sleep, eat, shower, play and you get the extra bonus for the break vs bed slot.  Basically, they will go piss even if they took forever to get back to base since it assigns the job as soon as the first break is triggered.

With this logic won't 1 Bed and X Downtime blocks be the best, if they are locked into going to bed anyway and will sleep until 100%, this would maximise the Downtime blocks and get as much morale from that as possible.

As you expand outward, getting the right buffer in front of bed matters.  My 1 break, 2 bed, 3 break still had dups sleeping on the floor due to zero stamina being reached.  But 2 break before bed would have mixed results too since some dups were in the base.  A return to base block would be nice

going to have to put a rec block before bed because I'm still getting random exhaust sleepers

I am now trying one rec, 3 sleep, 3 rec.  Early base wont need this but later game and it takes a long time for dups to rtb.  Early game might just be 2 sleep, 3 rec
