Things I really, and I mean REALLY want in the game

Recommended Posts

Right. So with the near date of the next update, I would just like to rattle off my ideas for things I would really want.

And yes, I know I have said a good few of these already before but I would just like to see how people feel about them still

Here goes:

-Would really like some updating to the disease system. I'm sorry but currently its just a laughable waste of time to put any effort into it.

-Natural events to affect the monotony, such as "asteroid too close to the sun" which would make the asteroids ambient temperature steadily rise, or "asteroid too far from the sun" with the opposite effect, you get the point. My problem with the game is that so many things just dont change. Its always just rinse and repeat. Back in alpha days, when the game updated I could just restart and have loads of fun, even if it was my millionth time playing. Now though it gets a bit dull after a bit, and kinda ruins the experience for me. I think that with this it would give some diversity to the game, just to make things interesting.

-more biomes gosh darnet!! Whats here is already pretty nice, but more is better. I've heard a lot of people wanting an ocean biome with salt water, ocean critters, etc. plus any other ideas people have

-More asteroid maps? In the debug stuff, there are a few maps that seem like "test maps", and with some refining, I think that would make a fantastic addition to the game

Thoughts?

PS for the natural events part, I do realize that in alpha there was more to add than there is now. I do not expect that level of things, I was just giving an example.

More recipies for the old bulidings.

Apothecary - give us more pills (painkiller to reduce wound debuffs, antibiotics to cure dupes faster)
Textile loom - more clothes (waterproof suit to reduce soggy feet, biohazard suit to reduce the amount of germs a dupe carries on himself)
Exosuit forge - new types of exosuits (specialised for certain danger types)
Glass forge - other types of glass (dim glass to reduce the amount of light and prevent sunburn, colored glass for extra decor)

A new disease type. Maybe produced by dead dupes, rotting meat and compost (small amounts). Or maybe a microbe from space.

The planet in the background being a destination for the rockets (or at least appearing on the starmap).

I think, medical will be adressed sometimes. But please dont mess around with temperature. Its already a pain in the a** to maintain temps in certain areas. If the asteroid changes, this will result in a huge mess.

yeah, hey! Sorry if it sounded flippant, or silly, but the poster above pretty much got right. A diagonal firepole essentially. It was very late, and my hands had reached their typing limit. I cannot type well, and it hurts after a while. I was at the end of a night session and couldn't type out all of this to explain it. I've found that building straight up, necessitating ladders, it takes a bit longer than cut diagonal natural ladders, which is good for exploration and quick pushes towards things. The downside is the navigation of these passageways is terrible from then on. It would be nice if the game engine could cope with diagonal 'things'. I had imagined a quick-line that could be installed, and that a dupe could attach to a belt loop to 'reload', or a small motor could be devised thats takes a trickle charge to wind it back up. Since firepoles are so, so so, super efficient I long for an alternative. So, again I apologize for the shallow response to your question. even this took like 10 min to type and edit,... sad :(

This path below took nearly half or more of a cycle to complete, to go get food or pee. it was a nightmare. :) and I still have to watch my hands as I type, after 30yr of it. which is sad too.

You know, at first I thought you were insane or something, but thats actually not a bad idea. Diagonal mining is, indeed, really hard

man if i had forgotten to check his bladder b4 he left LC, I could cry for some of the times, all the way out, half a dig cut, and bang ALL the way back. I was half tempted to let(make, force! :) ) him pee in a cold biome, I might have once by accident....

Yeah make disease dangerous and great again

+1 for natural events, don't care, i want thing to bear with it

Don't play the game so much.
I know it's to fun to stop.... but wait. Your getting bored of it.

Take a break from it.
Take 2 weeks 2 months off and play some other games. I'm sure there are other pre release games out there that have updates you could play.
There's a few other good games that have come out in the last month.

When the update comes out.
I play once through. That's it. Then I don't play again until the next update comes out.
Don't want to get burnt out on it before the game is complete.

How many over played subnautica before release.
When it was finalized. It didn't take long after for everyone to move on.

Actually, I stopped playing the game a couple months ago. I Believe to rekindle my playing of this game, it would take the things I've asked for. The game becomes rinse-and-repeatly in my opinion after a while.

The improvements I would like to see in the game are as follows

More decor options: benches, trees, fountains (on closed loops), back walls,  various statues and paintings requiring further jobs such as master sculpture or Master Artist. Irony could be added by if the artist dies the decor value goes up by +1 for their works

Ration assignment: being able to have selected dupes eat the good stuff due to their higher morale requirement

A Goal: With the rocketry upgrade I thought why not use this as collecting special material from these rockets to create an Ark which will transport your dupes, some supplies and Livestock to a new asteroid. causing you to have to start the game over with the selected supplies. The new asteroid however has different biomes, some new materials, and research requirements to survive and build another ark to leave as you try make it home it could go like this asteroid -> asteroid#2  -> asteroid#3 and finally a choice to end or go back to a new asteroid (of your choosing)  with everything you have unlocked (endless mode)

Combat: is lackluster i would love to build soldiers and turrets to combat aliens or space pirates that could raid on these later asteroids to increase difficulty refined metal could be used with read fiber for combat armor (improved versions of the exosuit)

I really like the ark idea. I think it would add so much to the game.

Sadly though it seems like huge things like that wont get added, as of their recent post

You can already set food permissions under the consumables menu.

I am hoping for this to happen and more Space exploration stuff. I am more than willing to pay more for these stuff.

more biomes would be cool.

I suggested a radiation biome.    for a Nuclear Update.     Rockets needing nuclear  for increased distance with less fuel or replace fuel.   a nuclear power planet.

can add radiation illness

For the apothecary, I would also like to see tranquilisers, reduces stress, at the cost of lowering work speed.

Love the idea of space plague coming from other asteroids, makes outer space a touch more risky.

The last sounds like a great expansion of endgame content.
