Do wild overcrowded dreckos lay eggs?

Recommended Posts

The title is pretty selfexplanatory. Do any of you guys know if wild dreckos lay eggs if they are overcrowded? The reason I ask is because, well, I just kinda assumed they would, so I crammed a whole bunch of them into one room...

Some of them are getting close to death, but I'm not seeing any eggs. Am I just being impatient? Or am I slowly killing my wild population?

Wild critters in to small a space doesn't lay eggs, I've not seen it tested if this takes into account the number of critters in the area.

Not really relevant in this case if the critters isn't wild, I just felt it was worth mentioning because I've had the entire population of critters die out from time to time and I think a combination of not having food (What we in the real world call starving, but because only tame critters get the status starving people get all silly when you call starving starving) and/or enough space is part of it.

Wild critters lay eggs whit the right setup. When I am at home I will post my drekos wild storage labyrinth.

Your dreckos are tame.

I am pretty sure wild critters never gain the overcrowded debuff?

Yup. Even says so in the tool tip in the screen shot.

Huh, that is true, I hadn't noticed. Seems like one of the wild ones were accidentally tamed and of course I picked that one as an example :p The problem with my current setup is that the wild ones occasionally escape into the tame area and get groomed. Though, the reason why I set the pens up like that, is because I let the wild ones feed on the mealwood once or twice in hopes of turning them into wild glossy dreckos.

The wild dreckos have the overcrowded debuff. I only had one tame drecko in there, I just got really lucky picking my example.5b86b36c726b8_wildovercrowdeddrecko.thumb.png.6966d39831d6944c568c06fab21303ca.png

Not sure what your talking about... I think we all know that under most circumstances wild critters lay one egg before dying, we are talking about situations where this isn't true.

Wild dreckos still need the required space to lay an egg. I had the problem once. My wild dreckos storage was not big enough and an egg was pooped. They got the expecting debuff and overcrowded. They would not lay an egg. After the expansion, eggs were popping again so you have to get a bigger room for them !

Better living condition for dreckos !

Sandbox magic. No way that was made with pumps and vents organically.

Um, no, plain old pumps and vents. Just flood the room with co2 first, then fill up with hydrogen while keeping the door open so the co2 can fall out.

I see, I apologize for confusing the issue. I suppose ranching isn't really my area of knowledge, in general (not just this topic)
