Can there be a water pipe inflow valve?

Recommended Posts

Currently it seems like the only way to get mopped/bottled water into a system is by making a small reservoir around a bottler and putting a pump in it, wouldn't it make sense if there were a water inflow valve like that you can pour bottled water into, rather than having to make a whole reservoir?

It wouldn't really make sense. Water pipes need to be pressurized and having an open valve would basically be a leak.

Make the "drain" work only if you have 500kg of liquid pressure or above? And if there isn't that 500kg of liquid pressure the valve starts to act wonky (thus, having a drawback compared to a pump)

That should work for most reservoir designs...

try pouring gas on your car to see if it fills the tank.

although i agree it would be nice but its the nature of the game to have to build these things ourselves. we are the ones in charge of coming up with the solutions to these problems. Originally we didnt even have the manual pumps and dupes would wander around sucking up mgs of water endlessly trying to feed the plants., then it was on us to build sinks and reservoir near those needed locations to try to save time.

What do you mean? I can take a jerry can and pour it into the tank easily? Same how I can fill a toilet-tank manually, why shouldn't dupes be able to pour in water to a system?

only because it has a pipe attachment like most more advanced systems requiring proper fittings in the planters case you cant deliver water to a hydroponics plot without the pipes

thats the thing its a bad slope for the game its stuff like that then we get an update and the game is fallout shelter. no trying to develop a working system to solve a problem there is a blueprint for the room/machine,, no thought or discovery required. may as well ad blue prints for hydrogen boilers and the like. the game is great with the making you do it yourself the more its automated the less involved in the game you are. the less things people have to implement themselves the more of a screen saver it becomes.

next they will ask for a steam input valve on the steam engine

iv seen toilets all the pipes leading to the reservoir are in fact pressurized the water tank on it is just a holding area held of by another pressure valve controlled usually by a ballist/floater that shuts off pressure to the tank
