Tobruk
The hatch in this set-up does not drop into water I guess I'll have to starve them to death then... Prince Mandor
Nobody fall through horizontal doors anymore. If you want it to fall, make doors vertical. Or better make doors in water, so it is not critters fall to water, but water raises to drown critters Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/93861-why-hatches-do-not-drop-into-water-when-without-foundation/#findComment-1067327 Share on other sites
malloc
Here is a simple alternative. The hatches will self-drown once they reach adult stage. It is slightly fiddly to build as you can't let the water level exceed the one tile depth or the hatches won't try to path to the landing pad on the far side. Ambaire
Why do hatches drown? Their only needs are something to eat, so there's no evidence they make use of respiration. malloc
Other than Pacu and Slicksters all other current critters drown despite a lack of respiration. Insert whatever sci-fi explanation you like -- shock, pressure induced rupture of internal organs, water permeable cranial cavity. Until recently pufts died mid-air if they flew under a stream of falling water of negligible volume. How about make vacuum room in the space and let them eat regolith for now. FutureJohny
No hatch breed eats regolith to my knownledge, this is why the Metheor magmaficator was developed.
