Hello,

That's basic stuff but...

Can't get it, unless by luck.

How do you "lock" priority?

Nothing's get done in my 700 cycles base, unless I ask with a nice 6 priority.

And I wish once I choose 6 it remains 6 the next time I use dig (or whatever).

Not 5.

(With new update, "spyware" is in place - with good reasons - , and my fps is very low, but so is mouse movements, feels like playing in jelly so any saved click is a bless)

Click on the dig tool, then the priority and then the place you want to dig, the game will remember your setting for future dig orders at least until you reload the game.

In general you should be using the priority tool only to make small adjustements on the fly and instead take a good look at the priorities screen (hotkey J) and adjust to your liking. By default digging has one of the lowest priorities so you can increase it there, or better yet assign your miners as dedicated diggers.

Yeah, unfortunately my game screws me over with this I sit wondering why my plants are not getting fed etc and then i see that everything is priority 9 when i only meant for one build to be priority 9

This works well for building, mopping, ladders etc.. but as for digging the next order goes back to 5. Is this a bug?

Nice question. I can't seem to find the perfect way to control them either. Right now I have the "toggle" priority set to ^^ and try to set everything else lower except for wrenches(which are also quite a lot). However, I always end up needing to change a certain priority and make it ^^ and in the end everything is high priority and dupes are panicking.

Another problem is that some tasks fall in several categories, e.g. Harvest is both farm and supply. That means if you set plants with high priority farmers will harvest them, but suppliers will also go out of their way to harvest and this sucks a lot. I guess you also need to restrict access to areas so that only people that need to do work there actually go there(e.g. farmers, ranchers, cookers). That would be my best tip - lock them in a dark room and give them only 1 thing to do.

Mate just play more, you are on the way of invention about the most highest think in this game is not even oxygen/food/power and water. But you so close to the answer, very very close. I can tell you but think twice you realy want to know now, or you wanna play a little bit more to get it.

I could swear it worked for mining, but maybe not. I don't use it much since I always have dedicated miners. It does sound like a bug though, it may be worth reporting it.

I do not change the subpriority (J) because for mining they could be different for different dupe coming to mine for example. So, to get this crystal clear, you do not have the same behavior when changing priority, let say for mining = if ask 7 it stays at 7 ?

Draft for bug report, last chance to see if I do not misunderstand:

1. Ask for mining (by default priority is 5)

2. priority change to 7, then mining.

3. Do another task (building). Default is priority 5.

4. Set build to priority 7

5. Go back to mining.. and... it's back to priority 5 !

6. Go back to build: it stayed priorty 7 !!

I would love it to be other way around, i.e always default to 5 in build orders too.

Can we get a switch so we can toggle save state on and off?

This would be the best solution. I'm so used to dig always being 5 that I forget that others stay saved and wonder why things don't get built then realize I built everything at priority 1 because I tried to switch to tiles without backing out of the pipes first.

It will be fine to setup default value. So, my digs allways be 7, my builds allways 4 and mop allways 8.

And if I switch build to 9 for one building, and after that build a looooong pipe, forgetting about it, I do not need to change priority back to normal
