minespatch
There seems to be two similar puft eggs but maybe I'm confused. One has stripes, the other is fluffy but similar yellow color. Mind elaborating so I can understand?
0xFADE
There are pufts and puft princes. Without a prince in a room the pufts will lay princes.
minespatch
Wait... PUFTS ARE ROYALTY?
blash365
They are similar to poultry. 1 rooster, many hens. Without the rooster (puft prince in this case), the hens (puftlets) wont function as well (reduced metabolism, 100% puftlet prince egg chance). Note that roosters are basically low-efficient versions of pufts, so having more than one prince per stable is not necessarily beneficial.
0xFADE
More than one is pretty terrible as they only convert slime at 10%

RonEmpire
I haven't been playing the ranching update long enough- but do puft eggs die in polluted water? they used to drown when they're in contact with water too long. how does that work when they drop their eggs into water? The egg has no problem. But the Puft will drown when it hatches.

blash365
If i am not horribly mistaken pufts and shinebugs should be able to get out of the liquid before they die. It was implemented one or two updates ago when the wild critters were changed to have a lifecycle. Players were (rightfully) complaining about baby critters dying in liquid without having a chance to tame them. So klei delivered. Quite hard to find, but here you go: On 8.6.2018 at 7:38 PM, Cheerio said: Puft and light bug will swim up through water to avoid drowning.
