juni3227
Is that mean we can cook natural gas or boil steam without magma? The output is 1500K molten glass! Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91263-so-about-new-glass-forge/ Share on other sites
neoazureus
Yes, you can Spoiler Molten glass Specific heat capacity = 0.2 J/g/K delta temp: dt = 2000K - 350K = 1650 Heat = 0.2* 25000 * 1650 = 8250 KJ Crude oil (10 kg at 350K) Specific heat capacity = 1.69 J/g/K If you want to cook crude oil into natural gas, you need to raise his temp at 812K (dT = 462K) Heat = 1.69 * 10000 * 462 = 7807.8 KJ You have enough heat for cook crude into natural gas, this maths are not exact, because the conversion crude > petroleum and petroleum > NG generate heat Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91263-so-about-new-glass-forge/#findComment-1040128 Share on other sites

0xFADE
Skip whatever heat loss there is from oil to petrol by using petrol from molten slicksters. Only problem is that their output per cycle is minuscule, so you end up needing a small army of them. Lilalaunekuh
Did someone already experimented with the poweroutput of our printing pod ? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91263-so-about-new-glass-forge/#findComment-1040197 Share on other sites

I've got a couple hundred of them and was prioritizing them over regular slicksters. Otherwise just settle on less conversion. 5 minutes ago, Lilalaunekuh said: Did someone already experimented with the poweroutput of our printing pod ? nice idea. I already use the light from the printing pod to grow bristle blooms. The problem is the center of the light source is the top of the pod, so there's not enough light below it for the solar panels. You get like 20 watts of power and the cells still produce a full 45 watts of heat. clickrush
I wonder if the window tiles make it so you can use shine bugs as a light source for bristle blossoms again (because you can prevent them from eating the berries) in a consistent way. You'd have to have a method to replace them. You can still trap them in a box of Glass Tiles, but they'd be Glum, so no replacement Egg. Even if they weren't Glum, you'd have to deal with the downtime associated with natural incubation. And unless they dramatically increase the range (but perhaps reduce the intensity of?) the Shinebug's light output, they are too unpredictable for keeping Berries growing consistently. Yeah, but you don't have much room to work if you want consistent lighting. The bulk of their lighting is 4 units from the shine bug. Bristle blossoms are 2 units tall and glass takes up a unit. So that means you only have two units of space to work with in the room, otherwise your bugs can move too high to light up the plant.
