HELP NEEDED-Base-resuscitation

Hello everyone!This is my first post here.I started Oxygen Not Included recently and my 4th base is under a crisis.It has no food and there is one dupe left.I don't have enough refined metal so wires keep breaking and disallows me to have any berries.Please help!The save is attached so you can take a look.

First off, quick fix for the wiring. Don't mix different wire types. Only the necessary machines are turned on which brings it down to 960 total Watts.

Next, seal off your natural gas so it doesn't leak out.

1. Deconstruct the door and close it off.

2. Access the room with a ladder.

(3. Move Fertilizer Synthesizers to the top and coal generators to the bottom. Move gas pump to where the Fertilizers will be.)

I would just start over... and make better plans.

Spread out more.  I think my base was doing just find almost around 40-50c before I cooled down everything by piping through 2 aetn.

Starting over isn't too bad, but i'd usually start over if I ran out of water and everything went dormant or something.  You are picking up building ideas each time you play and getting to where you were before faster.

You should also use a LOT of + decor furniture.  I don't see any in those screenshots.  Once your first dupes start getting near 20% stress it is time to spend some cycles cleaning up all the junk on the floor and building some paintings and statues.  Granite statues and granite paintings everywhere.  Even incomplete they offer a little decor bonus.  You can build them before you have an artist with more than 5 creativity(or you will get low quality artwork)

In my main base i've got full green decor.  The only red spots are where I've got heavy watt wire sticking out of sealed areas.  You learn more and more about what to take care of the more you play.

Hmm yes.  Wiki says 4+ for masterpieces so you may be able to get away with just 2.

Actually the BIGGEST problem is no one touches the metal refinery or rock granulator...................

oh boy, the biggest problem is you ONLY have 1 duplicant to run whole base XD

I guess it's time to restart. Poor dude is going to take forever to get the base back into a reasonable working order.

I revived the base myself but I feel it is entering a population sine wave----able to support 3-4dupes for a short time b4 dying to only 1 because of light wires for berries break,then last one repairs it and completes the cycle.

For get a better IDEA for this, you can keep screw up more with the base, then throw this to community challenges. Set some target for them to archive. it will be fun XD

This is why you need to seal your base with abyssalite and put the generators out of your base

 

If you want a real challenge try to save my base:

The Diseased Supernova (BACKUP).sav

Some issues:

1-No metal refinery

2-No oxygen production

3-Almost no coal

4-Duplicant stress

5-Needs more ranchers/stables

6-Needs a condenser in oil biome to get rid of steam

7-Needs a lot of gas management

Create a new map and learn from your mistakes. I played ONI over 1000 hours and reroll so much. That's the best way to learn. Currently, this is my game :

I will reroll it at the next patch even it's stable.

Learn to manage overload, your problem is not the lack of refined metal, check always your wire to see their status, if it's over 1000W, make a another network.

Ok so your main food is Bristtle Blossom. You should try mushroom + Pepper Bread, you'll see how much calories you will obtain.

Futhermore, you will save a lot of water for you Electrolyzers.

It wasn't that hard. You had a ton of dirt and decent amount of coal.

Made a few structural changes. The only debug thing i did was put a 3 layer water lock in the bottom, only cause i wanted to try it out. It's not necessary for the base to function.

Next steps would be to set up electrolysers since algae was pretty low in the save you posted. Take a look.
