Morb spawns from dead duplicants so having to make it happy for it to lay eggs to reproduce would be stupid. Plus morbs produce polluted oxygen which helps spread slimelung so it's a bad thing to have a morb in your base

Normally we produce morb with blocked outhouse toilet. As for polluted oxygen, it can feed puft and change to slime. Slime can change to polluted water and algae. So its actually a good thing.

This stopped being the case last year, Morbs now come from an outhouse which hasnt been cleaned in a while when it is clogged

This doesn't change anything- morbs still are renewable without having to make them happy and all that stuff. Plus they don't actually eat anything and if they did it would probably be something related with dead duplicants or polluted dirt

morbs no longer spawns from dead body

PO2 is only dangerous if you already have a slimelung contagion.  By itself it's harmless.  The risk of the contagion is enough to keep it contained however.

But, ridiculous Morb generation can be profitable:

Throw together a LOX purifier and you've got a recipe for endless O2.  The only thing that really keeps it from being truly game breaking is that LOX is not newbie friendly, and by the time you've gotten to LOX generation, you're way ahead of the game difficulty cycle anyway.

@Major44 the reason I think they didn't expand/manipulate them in Rancher MkII is because they're supposed to be a nuisance creature that can cause more problems then solutions if you're not prepared to handle their output.

Well, I think it makes sense.

Spawn also by letting a dupe dead body on the ground (create a lot of them with time)

Hmmmm...

I don't think they are very useful. Polluted Water already produces Polluted oxygen, does it not? Those critters are more a pest than anything else

PH2O offgasses to PO2, yes.  You need HUGE amounts of it with grills of Airflow Tiles for gas though to support a colony with that though.  Morbs are more compact.

Morbs are basically mobile mini-geysers ;)

As the environment is fully closed, there must be ways to get matter in and out, at least if there is no perfect recycling. And recycling is pretty rudimentary at this time. So geysers and Morbs get matter in. Getting matter out is still not solved well, the only real way I found is burning Hydrogen or Coal and then destroying the energy generated via Wheezeworts and Nullifiers. I would like to see a long-term research goal of "Black Hole" or the like here.

Letting critters each it already deletes half of the mass. I think they can also eat literal piping hot stuff and not die.
