• While playing online i noticed that some people can quickly tipe in chat

"banana : I have 14 Gears"
or
"banana: I miss 8 manure to build a small farm"

What are the keys to do this? I tried asking around but people will just answer "magic lol" or give no answer at all :/ 

 

• I know that holding shift while opening a chest can quickly move items from your inventory to the chest or vice versa, and that holding CTRL will split the stack in half (say 20 logs will become 10). But is there a way to pick one single piece of item at the time? Often people ask me "can i have 1 flint" or "1 grass" and i have to CTRL click 19 times before getting just 1 grass/flint to give.. Pretty annoying

There is a way to make that you put only one element at the time in your inventory. Maybe by clicking ctrl+click when holding the item. I don't remember exactly, i'll check the next time i launch the game.

There is a take half shortcut key though nothing is mapped to it on default.

Everyone has it because it is super useful to communicate what you have to others.

To give 1 item, you could either

• Drop the item on the floor by doing CTRL + Click on the floor
• Separate the item from the stack by picking it up (as in putting it in the "mouse slot"), CTRL + click once on where it was, then the mouse slot item with a different item (as to not recombine stacks) then proceed to handing the item. I know this sounds pretty long but it can be done pretty quickly ingame.
• Put 1 of the item in a chest using, again, CTRL + click.

well either what others said - use ctrl key or just do it more efficient with math magic! you can pick one item with just log2(n) click of halving! 5 clicks is way more easy than 19 and if you keep in mind that you always pick the lower half, then you'll find that you can do it in 4 clicks with 3 empty inventory slots

jokes aside, i use this for, say, getting 10 rocks out of stack for thermal stone and such, better than picking by one or taking all of it and returning
