Why Winnie would work well in DST

I agree overthere.
I honestly don't believe there is a need to resurrect scrapped characters into DST, unless you want to see what happened in SW happen on DST, aka, people disliking them for several reasons because they don't equal or meet the capabilities the current main ones have.

And besides, come on, we have a workshop RIDDLED with modded characters, by technical means you don't have just the main characters, heck you can mod your own ideas, this is why DST and DS are so mod friendly, you can completely modify the game if you have the knowledge and motivation.

That's exactly my thinking. People who want the scrapped graphics have modded versions on the workshop. The majority, however, could really use new things.

Well, yeah...that was kinda the main point of my overly-long post back there:  That the mod version of Winnie works perfectly well and we don't NEED her to be _officially_ added to the game. I'm very particular about my mods and won't allow in anything that feels unbalanced or just plain _looks_ wrong, so if I'VE got a modded character in my game, that mod's creator must've done something right.

Anyway, yeah, we don't need her to be ACTUALLY added to the game when there are lots of other things that still need tweaks (coughwherestheloveforsmallbirdscough).  You wanna play as Winnie?  Fine!  Show up on my server, "Zelynda's Funtime Wilderness Extravaganza!!" any time you want--there's hardly anybody else ever there and I could use the help it's a nice place and there are lots of random veggies for you to farm. And yes, the ewelos could use some proper shepherding.  They're handy to have around, but I often find myself having to make signs telling newbies:

"DON'T KILL THE PINK THINGS!"
: P

EDIT: Also I've got the seasons randomized and in my current world, we've got THE SHORTEST WINTER EVAR.  _Perfect_ place to be a vegetarian, as there are only a few days per year where crops won't grow.  Fall--harvest season--is uber-long and spring is a _bit_ longer than normal.  Summer is shortish too--I kind of ended up with the perfect year by accident.  Heh.

1. Synergy with Wigfrid - Wigfrid is renowned as Overpowered (personally, I don't believe that) - but she can also work great with Winnie. Winnie would have the ability to herd animals, leading to an increased amount of meat for food. Not only does this benefit Wigfrid with more meat, it leaves more veggies that would previously be used as filler.

This gave me flashbacks to the time when you heard people, "But WX is hard cause Wet Damage"

Hah, you got to this thread at a good-bad time. I'm making a totally new one after re-reading this and realising how ******* OP it made Wigfrid.

I would actually imagine her losing sanity by seeing animals getting murdered more than anything and having a sanity loss near wigfrid if that was even a thing.

What need to happen, or something like the animals she tamed get killed , not just seeing 'em

(sigh)  Would people please quit posting these mean-spirited gifs or video clips?!  It adds absolutely nothing and makes you look like a jerk.  People from famous movies/TV shows LAUGHING THEIR HEADS OFF every time somebody says something causes them difficulty in the game...Maxwell memes where he's holding up a sign saying "GIT GUD"...seriously, just stop it.  STOP.  It's _mean_, it's cold-hearted, it's douchey and it accomplishes NOTHING.

Also, it's not clever.  At all.

Everybody was a noob once.

Not everybody finds things as easy as you might.

This fact is not a source of amusement.

Knock it the phrack off.

I just wanted to specify...I didn't mean to call you out specifically about the stupid laughing gifs, Glhrmzz...I mean, I just saw your whole thread of video clips about various New Reign mechanics, base tours, boss fights, etc. and that is some helpful stuff!  You seem like a pretty cool dude.

It's just that I don't like that kind of thing _in general_, and it seems to happen fairly often around here.  (shrug)

Well, MOD-lore can be absolutely anything. That's both the beauty and the problem of it.  : P

As for mods in general...not all modded servers are the same.  Not all of them are infested with "weaboo crap". The trick IS, to click on where it shows you _which_ mods they have, and read the list.  Arlesienne and I, to name just a couple, make damn sure to only use mods that are (canon!) lore-friendly and balanced.  I allowed the version of Winnie into my game that I have, as a mod-character, because she's not only balanced but actually kinda _hard_ to play.

Saitama, however, or (shudders) Trump building walls all over the place...nuh-uh. No.  Not on MY server.

Overall, the best way to make sure a server only has the mods (and world-gen settings) _you_ approve of, is to make your own. That's what I did!

Ow, poor Chester!

I'm now picturing like when you're doing the Easter-egg menu in Yandere Simulator, and you end up as One-Punch Yandere.  People FLYING explosively across the school, getting stuck in walls with their legs sticking out and glitchily flailing all over the place...

Now picture that, only with Chester and probably smashing into, I dunno, a tree.  : P  Little short legs wigglin' about...

(A bit off-topic, but hey.  It's fun.  I mean, it's _related_...we're talking about which mod characters do and don't work, after all.)

If by "fix" you mean "make more like her original self", I'm all for that. Can we have our fire immunity back?  Pleeease?  Pretty please with thulecite on top?  If not that, then can our wimpy lighters that hardly give off any light be infinite again, like Lucy?

ANYway.

Merms are now Mexicans?  Oh...kay then. At any rate, that sounds more like a concern Arlesienne would have, than me...she's the one who likes to build her main base in the swamps, after all.  ;)

Wigfrid is one of the easiest characters _once you get used to how she works_ and the game a a whole, I'd say.  Fun fact:  Wigfrid is the second character I did, indeed, actually STARVE to death as.  (The first being Wolfgang.  In winter.)

If you don't yet know about all the commonplace ways to farm other supplies of meat, don't know that you can eat monster meat as her just fine if you kill things afterwards, and, more importantly, this is your first time Reign of Giant-ing EVER and you didn't know that the rabbit holes close up in spring...

Yeah!  I remember one of my early spring starts as Wigfrid, I ended up accidentally angering and then singlehandedly defeating three treeguards in a row.  Because I was already dying anyway, so WHY THE HEL* NOT?!

As I starved to death that night, I put one of the living logs on my fire.

Its scream sounded like victory.

...ANYway, point is--even some of the easier characters can be hard at first when you aren't yet used to them.
