You for real? You already know how I feel about people who don't bother playing the game for themselves, so why this?

The reason I exploded was because I was shocked from what Mikeadatrix said. I already addressed the point of  effort. Not sure if you have read it, but if you have, then address it. And no, I don't always yell at people for having a different opinion than mine. There's just time for opinion and there's time for reason. Here is no time for opinions. And yeah, I am negative most times. But so what? So what if I'm negative? At least if I'm negative and look at things from the bad angle, whilst none else does, I can find problems most people wouldn't even notice until it's way too late.

If what I've said is based purely on opinion then explain to me... When does something stop being an opinion and become reason? They are not one and the same; opinionis as I see it is based on someone's liking, preference, feel, it is subjective, whilst reason can be speculation, facts, logic to some extent, something you don't base off of feelings, but rather on what you know. So tell me, if you know, how could I become more objective?

And I am happy and crack jokes every now and then. Just that here it is a serious matter, whilst everyone else thinks meh of it it seems.

Eheheheheheh ohohohoho that gave me quite the chuckle. This is a place for communicating about a video game. If your not gonna be positive and respect people, leave. We don't need anymore negative Nancies running amok. I respect your idea of private property. Do you respect mine, cupcake?

Also. Why are you getting so torn up over an OPINION. This whole bloody thread is your damned opinion! The contradicting is mindblowingly hilarious.image.jpeg

Seriously? What kind of travesty is this? Not allowed to be negative? No, man, screw that! I'll be positive when I see it necessary and I'll be negative when I see it necessary. And by that I mean looking at problems. You might be thinking something else, though.

And no, what you're proposing is a contradiction; I am arguing for making sure that private propertiers don't do what they do, whilst you're just fine with it, but are not fine with me taking action against what they do. So you can't really "respect" my point of view and I can't "respect" your point of view, objectively speaking.

Also, let me just say that I hate that phrase; "respect opinion". What is that even supposed to mean?! Agree to disagree and move on (leaving things hanging)? Coming to a common agreement? Every time I see somebody say it, it makes me cringe, like truly cringe, because the times I've seen the phrase be used is when people don't want bad spoken about their opinion. Well guess what; that isn't how problems get solved, so please, if you genuinely care about this subject, put some thought into it instead of saying "lets respect each other's opinion", alright? Or, if you see the point of the other person's view and conclude they are right, then say "point taken" and then we can end it there. But that's doubtfully to happen any time soon, considering how passionate people here seem to be about private property, regardless of the consequences.

If you don't know how to come to a common agreement you truly are lacking skills in resolving any conflict. Which is sad. Let's say this. I make 2 dark swords, one for my friend and myself. He's AFK right now so I place it in his chest. Some guy runs into my base steals the dark sword and says he's gonna kill the DFLY. I call him crazy and beg him to return it. He refuses. He dies to the DFLY. And now I can't get my sword back because I'll get mauled due to me not owning the pan flute and us being on day 25. Is that fair? Taking resources from private chests is annoying but fine, but I've seen my fair share of "borrowing" done in many of my servers. Private property is necessary. If you don't have any sense of personal stuff and BOUNDARIES you will proceed into anarchy. Best part was, when I called him out in chat, he started a vote kick, and in 1 minute I was kicked from the server. That's why I need private property. We need rules or we will have chaos. Deal with it, bucko.

Respect opinions. If someone doesn't agree with you, you don't have to make them agree. Everybody thinks what they think it's right. don't force your opinion on others. That's what it means.

Again, sorry for my bad English.

Personally, I wouldn't like if I put hours in getting stuff for a, say, shadow manipulator, and then someone comes and takes that because "they needed a shadow manipulator too, to survive." Not sharing base with other people it's not being selfish. The game it's about surviving, not cooperating. I don't see any description of the game that states, "You absolutely have to cooperate with others, or you will be considered a selfish person who only cares about yourself." anyone has their own playstyle.

Sorry if I sound rude, or stuff like that. I'm not really in a good mood these days.

And sorry for the bad English, too.

I facepalmed at your shadow manipulator statement, because if you mean hammering, no, that could even be considered griefing and considering that they need obviously to just craft the recipes with it... Why move it? It would be illogical. Think, man, THINK!

The name of the game is Don't Starve TOGETHER. A former designer by the name of Seth Rosen, during a DST stream said that he and the rest of the team would like to design the game best fit for cooperating and working together. What part of TOGETHER do you not understand? And this is Public PvEs marked as social or cooperative that I'm talking about, the other modes (e.g. PvP, competitive, madness, private servers) are not included, because obviously the intentionbehind them is the exact opposite of that. If you have a different playstyle, DON'T join public PvEs that are marked social or cooperative, in particular cooperative, because that is not what these modes are meant for. It's like joining PvP and expecting everybody to cooperate. Sorry, but the mode is not for that (private property) and it works counter to the intention even.

And nah, you don't sound rude. I'm tired myself too... Should really go to sleep and come back here tomorrow...

To answer a bit more seriously...there's also sharing up to a POINT.  Common things, that can be re-gotten again easily, maybe you can take some _if you ASK first_.  And yes, the whole point is cooperation (at least on a cooperative server)...AND survival.  Meaning, if you want to take some of someone else's stuff, _you give some back_.

That's all we ask!  The reason people put "Private Property" on stuff is probably because they've run into too many clueless grabbing newbies.  "Oh, great, lookit all this useful stuff, cool!"  Yes, in big mega-bases, sometimes the entire area around it is picked pretty clean. But, ya know?  It's not the only good place. Find a DIFFERENT savannah that still has grass.  Find a different meadow where the berries haven't been picked.  Find another rock field. Trees, they're everywhere.  And if you ARE going to stay at the already-built base...

If you take something in the crockpot that you didn't cook, put some more ingredients in afterwards.

If you take the last piece of jerky, hang another up.

If you take grass, twigs, logs, or other basic resources, put some in as soon as you've gotten some to spare.  Not immediately. But, ya know, when you can.

And if it's winter, when things don't grow back...ESPECIALLY ask!

That.  Is how you have basic common courtesy.  In a survival game.

Edit:  I just saw the quotes (I wish I couldn't) and all I have to say is...

CANNOT...FLIP...OFF...HARD ENOUGH!  NOT ENOUGH MIDDLE FINGERS! NEVER ENOUGH!

I absolutely CAN'T swear enough to express my hatred of you, your pretentiousness, your nastiness, your absolute refusal to acknowledge that OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS AND FEELINGS MATTER _TOO_!!  How the hell can you be FUNCTIONING in society, if you don't even _understand_ the phrase "respect others' opinions"!  YES, sometimes you leave things hanging!  It's called agreeing to disagree; look it up!  Sometimes you CAN'T force others to agree with you!  You CAN'T!  People have other brains, other feelings, other situations!  They're not always gonna agree with you!

How the hell are you even still ALIVE, if you act even remotely like this off the internet and, better question...

How the hell are you still _here_?

And the veil is lifted. Reason is now audible. This is the solution.... ASK FIRST.

1) This goes back to a point I already addressed; what if somebody has nothing TO give? What if they NEED stuff first before they can actually create any output from that? And yes, after I take some, I put some back. Common sense in this game, I would say.

2) You didn't address my question on opinion and reason.

Suddenly everything is a goddamn opinion. WHERE. IS. REASON?! I've asked this like 3 times now, it seems as if the word doesn't exist here even.

Oh, but it's her OPINION, isn't it?

Sorry for being this sarcastic, but I just can't even... Just... I feel like too much stupid has been thrown at me all at once... I'm sorry...

Also, a point Chaotica mentioned that I forgot to address - private property being the result of looting. Setting things as private property isn't going to stop looting. It'll just get in the way of genuine decent players. This is why I suggested safes, as possibly mentioned before.

Just because you think your reason is sound doesn't mean everyone else does. Calling your "reasoned" conclusion an opinion is a nice way of not having to say "I think you're full of crap." It's a thing adults do, especially about things relatively inconsequential. Like philosophy on multiplayer gaming.

You are a really rude person. I can't say it any better or any less. You're an inconsiderate jerk who thinks he's right no matter what. I recommend you leave quietly before Joe gets involved.

That's really rude of you. To say you can't handle all the "stupid" being thrown at you. Behave yourself and realize that everything you type, you have a chance to think it through. Stop before an admin is called to lock down this thread.

I'm a person who has no power on the matter, but I suggest you be the bigger person, call an admin if his behavior bothers you, and walk away. Don't take matters into your own hands and go down to their level to insult them as well.
