Scoobie101 Posted May 17, 2016 Share Posted May 17, 2016 Hello! I've been playing Wickerbottom on a server my friend made and we've been in the world for maybe 85ish days? Anyway, prior to this play through I've NEVER played Wicker and I've had the book "Birds of the World" for awhile and I can't help but feel like I'm using it wrong. I want to try and use it as efficiently as possible. I've used it with a Lureplant so that eye plants eat the birds, but when I break the lure plant, there's too many birds and even with my friends helping me we can't seem to pick them all up before they fly away. I've also tried putting them to sleep with a pan flute and manually killing each, but again, they wake up and some fly away before I can use the pan flute again. Is there a better way of doing this, or am I always going to miss a few birds? You may miss a couple if you don't have a friend to help kill a few birds though. At that point, wouldn't it be better to use The End is Neigh with Birds of the World? Or is The End is Neigh inaccurate in killing the birds? Both "The end is Nigh", and STS use the same sanity "33" you use STS if you want meat, and feathers, or "The end is nigh" for just meat however it will be cooked instead of raw, so I only ever use STS since you could use the feathers for blow darts, and tranquilizer darts for the late game. Edit: I forgot to mention that if you do use "the end is nigh" then you still won't be getting all the birds, but with STS and a friend you can almost all the birds, and about sanity, just make taffy or pumpkin cookies, you could also make a dapper vest, and a top hat(if that stingy Walrus didn't drop a tam o shanter) for no sanity loss at night. Besides the points GiddyGuy made, Wickerbottom also has a greater sanity reserve for this exact reason. A few cooked greenshrooms should do the trick either way. Or is The End is Neigh inaccurate in killing the birds? best strategy is to have a maxwell player read the sts book just after you read birds of the world. maximum efficiency especially as maxy boy has that sweet constant sanity regen. also set some bird traps down around you, as a few of the birds should land in the traps and you don't have to kill quite as many in the short time limit that way. Keep doing it and at some point the game will stop spawning more.
