Share your lucky or unlucky moments!

Hey guys.I wanted to make a thread where we can all share our lucky or unlucky moments!

Here's one of mine.

-In my previous wolfgang game I got krampus sack after I killed glommer on day 25 but then died to varg+deerclops.

-Currently on my wickerbottom i'm on day 100 and I tried  the birds of the world+sleepy time stories for the first time and I got the krampus sack from the first krampus that spawned.

Some pictures below.

I just rememverd another Great Unlucky Moment.

So after SW Introduced Wilbur and his unlock condition I obviously start a new file and go my marry ways to Unlock him

Got the Tarnished Crown on day 12 and started looking for him since then. It took me till around day 30 till i found him and during that time i found at least 10 treasures and burned through 4 Spyglasses to find him. The kicker was that the stupid raft was literally 2 screens away from the Island where i got the crown from and because this is me it was the last spot of Shallow Ocean i haven't Uncoverd.

And then 3 days i got rekt by Sealnado.

I also found a Walking Cane right away xD Probably one of the best items in the game.

Hmm, lucky moments... let's see. when I went down the Ruins for the first time I started exploring in a random direction and immediately found the Ancient Guardian, I guess that was pretty lucky (after having explored every square cm of the caves to find the sinkhole...).

Also, I've gone 400+ days without dying so far as Wilson with two Meat Effigies. I've come close to death so many times after having my armor destroyed and being brought down to less than 20 health. I've been pretty lucky so far considering I'm playing with just 90 health.

Was the opposite for me, I found Wilbur on day 3 and then killed over 50 monkeys and could not get the Tarnished Crown to drop :/

Lucky-unlucky:

Once in a old Wilson save I was cornered by Deerclops nearby an Evergreen forest: hungry, cold and low hp. I guess it was my second winter, had a few days on that game. Hopeless, I took my chances and decided to start chopping trees and see if a Treeguard spawns.

The forest was dense and I was lucky. Managed to run and chop trees, spawning 2 big treeguards. Once they met Deerclops, they killed him.

Buuuut, as I was going to pick the loot with a axe in my hand, I accidently knocked it on a tree. Damnit camera!

Well, I didn't have time to react. My saviors became my executioners.

I have a world that is super old, day 8 million (hyperbole) vanilla don't starve but two rock lobsters got to the surface. I eventually just sectioned off my third of the world and let the lobsters have the other 2/3rds. It was a default size world, so not much to work with

Edit: the colon and a capital P is not a smiley face. Get your act together, Klei.

Lucky- Found Glommer on the first full moon.
Unlucky- Catcoon killed Glommer on his first night in camp
Lucky- Headed to pig king to trade (long way from base) and it happened to be the second full moon!
Unlucky- Hounds showed up and ate Glommer.
-Finally got Glommer back to base and settled on the 3rd moon only to have the whole base burn down and kill him again. :( It was never meant to be my furry flying buddy.

At least now you can make a good tree farm with the old bell!

Lucky: finding a perfect island in shipwrecked with a jungle, magma biome, water beefalo and a tidal marsh with 4-6 fishermerms. Have never seen so many fishermerms.

Unlucky:building a campfire in middle of forest with a mandrake with me... he was just dancing around and following me. Turns into mandrake item directly on top of campfire, setting alight and setting the entire forest alight.

LUCKY: Just got 2 Krampus sack IN A ROW! Seriously, like 1 second apart!

3 Krampus spawned. Killed one Krampus. Saw the sack and wet myself. Paused the game to cheer. Resumed game. Killed next Krampus and omg another sack. Wet myself again. Paused game, no cheer, just silence from disbelief. Resumed game. Killed final Krampus. Didn't get my hat-trick :(  #neverlucky

I know there is little point in having 2 Krampus sacks, but seriously, to get one after another is INSANE. (1/200 or .05% chance)

This was the first Krampus farm I've ever done.

Also, I did a little digging to see if this has ever happened before, and I couldn't find anything. So I think this might be the first time ever 2 Krampus Sacks have been dropped in a row. If this is true, I'd literally be the luckiest person in don't starve ever.

As for good luck, well, I found Maxwell's Door on day 14 if that counts? Right next to a Touch Stone I'd found. I'd literally walked past it. ...Then again that was literally my first file. I had no idea what I was getting into.

Speaking of, I found a Walking Cane by a skeleton near the start of the first Adventure Map! I did not realize how lucky this was at the time.

Unlucky, hmm...Well other than getting mobbed by...mobs...it had to be this playthrough. Started off well, had a good stream of bunnies coming, found two Touch Stones. However as I was skirting the swamp, a tentacle showed up where I didn't even think it could spawn and killed me. I revived, nearly lost my mind because I could only get back to where I was via Wormhole, then died when getting greedy with a Koalephant and panicking because there was a hound attack incoming. Somehow managed to live after respawning without any weapons because a pig...saved my bacon.

I then spent the next several ingame days searching for my death point, putting off my hunt for Beefalo because I NEEDED the stuff I'd dropped to survive in winter.

I finally found it after over a game's week of searching.

And right at that moment, as I was going to pick it up real quick so as to not tick off the tentacle, Willow got nervous.

Was barely able to save the shovel and backpack. More things than this burned by the time I hit the screenshot key. I had literally over a stack of ash by the time this was over.

...Surprisingly enough, despite this delaying my preparations for winter and making sure I wouldn't be able to even FIND beefalo until getting lucky and finding a "pack" of two while nomad-ing it up in winter, I did live until the morning of Day 26. Hounds killed me, but I was about to totally lose it in a few more minutes anyway.

Lucky?  Well, I've found Chester on Day 2 and gotten three live-giving amulets from the same graveyard...

Unlucky?  A HA HA HA.  Sit right back and I'll sing you a song--the epic saga of Wigfrid and the Fluffy Bunch:

It was autumn of my second RoG year, and I was doing my usual way of dealing with Bearger:  Have 10 honey on hand so you can lure him to a secluded area and put him to sleep. It worked before (with me talking to the screen like I was coaxing an actual animal:  "Yes! That's for _you_!  I saved that for you.  You can have it!"  Yes, I'm very silly.)...but THIS time, tiny problem:  It was close to night when he spawned and I was in the middle of a pig village.

Ran as far as I dared before it went completely black, put honey on ground, Bearger sleep, light torch, YAY...

...and then this STUPID pig went "YOU GO SMASH!" and punched him awake!  (Although, ya gotta admire the moxie of anything that goes up to something TEN TIMES THEIR SIZE and tries to fight it bare-handed.)

So I start barelling back to camp as fast as I can--in the dark--with hounds leftover from my last Varg _also_ out there...somewhere...trying to get to my icebox and the 23 other pieces of honey in there to try again, and got there by morning to see...

...a happy sleeping Bearger on top of ALL THE SEPERATE BITS OF MY BASE.  ALL OF THEM.

It doesn't end there!  With many trips (even with Chester--he, Glommer, and a sometimes catcoon were the Fluffy Bunch) I finally managed to pick up enough bits for a new base.  I just barely get _that_ done in time for winter, when the hounds show up.  I try to run them into the nearby-ish beefalo...and that DAMN VARG was _still_ there from two seasons ago.  Ice AND fire hounds!

And _that's_ what finally ended my Saga.  Ah, well.  If you're gonna go out, go out with DRAMA!  Quite fitting for Wigfrid, really.

...Notorious
