Does Gift drops have requirements?

Hey there, @Superbro11! Welcome to the forums! :D

The gift system is completely random, you can get them in any online server (even yours) with any amount of people in, from 1 to the game's/server's maximum!

Gifts are given away randomly, so just keep playing and eventually you'll get one! Then another, then another, then another. Then you'll have to wait for them to reset on Thursday! :)

Question, what situation you must be in to get "Gift Drops"?

Can it be your own server, or just other online servers to get Drops?

or on a server with players on it to be entitled to get drops?

or 100% random?

You can get gifts under any conditions, as long as the server is an online one. They've just got random chances to drop.

Like people said, as long as you are on a online server, didn't pass the 4 gifts cap(which resets every thursday), and of course, don't have any pending gifts to be open, you will receive a drop sooner or later.

I also see you play TF2 Classic as well, how are you liking the mod?

I have a feeling that players with less skins in their inventory have greater chance of getting rare skins. I have 36 skin in total, 24 common, 11 classy, 1 spiffy.

Each time I receive a dupe I feel kinda sad. :C

The drops and rarities of those said drops are entirely random - don't worry. :D

Proof?

I've gone through 80+ DST players inventory and thats what I find. Less hours, less items in the inventory, more heads.

This "entirely random" thing reminds me the tf2 golden wrench story.

It is entirely random. People with that many items in their inventory usually either:

  • Traded smartly, and ended up multiplying their skins
  • Have multiple accounts for skin-farming.

I am not gona comment on how all those 80 players get their goods.

I can only say during the last winter sales, I've seen a few new players with play time less than 20 hours, receiving a head/distinguish on my server. So those are for sure not from trade.

Anyway, since none of us can provide evidence on how the system work exactly, I think I am gona end it here. The dev know how it works so I can only hope they know they are doing the right thing.

Believe me, the drops are completely random. The devs confirmed that.

You could say that you get better quality with less quantity ;)

Just wait a little longer, we're very close to giving you something to do with those!

:D

Now, wouldn't it be hilarious if next update they simply added another shade of blue for the buttoned shirts, instead of the trade inn? Wouldn't it? Ha ha... ha...
