(For clarification: The red is in his head - Oh hey I rhymed!)

That's not a dragoon, imbecile...

Syndir jumped having been caught off guard, but then shortly after calmed down and awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck. "Thank goodness," he sighed, laughing weakly and relaxing somewhat. "I was worried there for a second."

This creature looks far more dangerous.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"

The dragon tilted her head in the other direction, this time in concern. From her experience it usually wasn't a good sign for a humans person to be talking like someone was there when no one was there. She let out a soft, concerned cooing sound.

(I'm going off the description in the main thread, so just prod me if I mess up)

Syndir resisted the urge to run, more so his legs wouldn't respond to reason, so in turn he took a different approach.

"S-Say your head is pretty golden," He stated, attempting to act nonchalant—failing of course, "j-just like my hands!" He pulled back his cloak's sleeves to show off his golden glove and hand. "That basically makes us chums, ye?"

He threw in a weak smile, forgetting that is face was concealed.

Oooo, shiny! The dragon, with wide eyes, bent her head down to examine the shiny limbs closely. Very closely. So closely in fact that the tip of her snout briefly made contact with one of them, making a clink sound. She caught the light glinting off the obsidian on his face too. It practically looked like this humans persons was made of shinys, and she suddenly found herself confronted with the urge to put him in her shiny pouch. He'd probably fit... No, no. Putting a humans person in the pouch would be mean. And suffocate-y.

As Wiffleball approached the boat, Noctimus finally regained consciousness. The first thing he did was cough up nightmare fuel, and then realize he was being carried by Ma. He was overjoyed, but when he tried to squeak happily, he coughed up more nightmare fuel. Ouch.

Syndir was not a fan of how close the dragon was getting. He didn't want to lose his hand for the second time—or worse his other hand. There was only one ethical thing he could come up with: bribery.

He couldn't see him needing his gold necklace any time soon, so he slid it around his neck and over his mask. Then he held it out in his trembling right hand and looked away anxiously.

Kate fell down on her knees when Famen released her. She put one hand up to her head, forgetting it was the injured one, and then quickly pulled it away when she remembered, switching to her other hand. "M... my... my head..." The shadows were more prominent now, when before they stared just out of her vision. They looked like they were laughing at her.

The dragon seemed surprised for a moment, then showed what could be perceived as a smile before taking the necklace and putting it in her pouch. He gave her a shiny! This was now her new favorite humans person. Her tail thumped happily on the sand.

Syndir leaped into the air with his hand held high, yipping in a frantic joy, and maniacally laughing, "Success—" Then abruptly he let out a rather hideous sneeze. His clothes were still drenched from his little venture with that rude crabbit beast and he hadn't realized how cold he had become, but worse than that...

"NOT IN THE MASK!" He shouted, hopping from feet to feet and desperately pulling at the object on his face to no avail.

Wiffleball patted Noctimus on the head a few times to reassure him as they ran across the beach. Coughing up fuel definitely wasn't a good sign, but there wasn't much he could do about it right this instant. The best he could do was get him onto the boat, and then get him help as soon as the rest of the group arrived. With this in mind, he ran past the screaming human, then kept running until the boat was in clear view.

Quickly, he boarded the boat, then stopped to gently set Noctimus down on the deck. He motioned for the little creature to stay, then turned and hopped the railing. He had to get back to Kate.

Wiffleball sprinted across the beach, bounding past Jaw and Gilda and running past Syndir and Mark. Finally, he reached Kate, slumped on the ground while Famen looked her over. He already had a sneaking suspicion of what was wrong with her, but wanted to make sure, so he stood close by.

(We may not have any mushroom stew, but the pirate hat increases sanity when worn.)

"Ha... Ha ha... Ha... Ha... Ha ha..." Kade gave out an empty, hollow laugh in sync with the shadow's taunting ones. He still didn't move or even turn his head to acknowledge Wiffleball.

Wiffleball began to back away, some of the shadows snickering as he passed through their ring. He could hear them, see them in flickers, and the closer he got to Kate, the more real they became. Kate was helpless, vulnerable, and the shadows were circling her like a pack of wolves, waiting to go in for the kill.

He pressed himself up against her. He'd protect her, no matter what.
