Kate felt along the plush's back and nodded in thanks, satisfied that her friend was all fixed. She headed down to the beach with the rod and sat the orange plush down next to her when she found a good spot so he could keep her company while she fished if he wanted to. Kade sat down next to her as she cast her line, having been unusually quiet all day. "... You do know we're going to have to make a fire to cook all the food, right? And the others are not going to want to sit in the dark all night." Kate knew this, but she had been putting off thinking about it. When she used her fire earlier her anger had temporarily overpowered her fear. Now that everything was calm, however, it would be a different story.

"And don't think you've gotten out of that talk I said we'd have earlier." Oh boy. He was trying to sound authoritative again... "A complete stranger pulled out a weapon and you ran toward him! Yes, he turned out to be somewhat friendly and no one got hurt, but what if he wasn't? You could have been seriously injured or even-" He stopped himself from finishing the sentence, but she knew what he was going to say anyway. "What you did was stupid, reckless, bullheaded, stupid- what would I do if you got hurt?! What would I do if you weren't here anymore..." She hung her head. Kade sighed. "Kate, listen, we're all we have left. We have to look out for each other, take care of each other. I know you were just trying to help, but I don't want you to get hurt. Okay?" Kate gave a small, barely noticeable nod, and they both went back to waiting for a bite in silence.

Meritursas slithers up to the fire, exhausted.  He briefly considers guarding the humans through the night, then decides that's way too cliche.  And anyways, he had helped them enough.  He shuts his eyes and falls asleep, the glow in his eyes and lure dimming.

Kade just barely slid out of the way before Trevor sat down. "Hey! Watch where you put your butt down!" He shouted irritatedly.

Kate shrugged, not moving her head to look at Trevor. She glanced over her shoulder at the fire and quickly faced forward again, her grip tightening on the poll. After a moment of thought, she reached into her pocket and pulled out the tropical fish she had caught earlier that day. "Would you please cook this for me?" She asked, offering the fish to Trevor.

The dragon rolled around a bit more, the coarse sand giving her scales a much needed cleaning. She felt much better now, and a bit sleepy. She dragged herself over to the fire and curled up with her back towards it. She wouldn't fall asleep before checking her shinys though, and quickly tucked her head into her pouch. Four gold shinys, one red shiny, and one blue shiny; yep, they were all there. Now she could fall asleep.

(AW CRAP!

Well let me explain the post I last made.

Trevor sat where Kade was sitting and asked what was wrong.

That's it.)

Trevor said "Sure." as he took the fish and headed to the fire. He started grilling the fish in the same fashion as Famen's fish.

( @MenaAthena, don't worry too much about it. Youknowwho ninja'd me and removed his post out of respect.)

Wiffleball sat cross-legged on the beach next to Kate. He glanced over at her, noting her slouch and glum demeanor. His first thought was that he had to try and cheer her up, since he hated seeing people upset. But what to do...? He stared out into the ocean. The last rays of the setting sun had painted the sky a brilliant orange, and the waves extended far into the horizon. Off in the distance was the coral reef they'd visited, small but still barely recognizable. Wait...coral. That was it! His ears perked up, and he ran off in the direction of the boat.

(Why'd I just imagine Wiffleball being a stereotypical Italian mob boss and telling Trevor behind Kate's back that he best show some respect and back away from his turf if he knows what's good for him, and then when Kate sees Trevor leave Wiffle's all like "ay, don't worry about it")
