Trevor wasn't familiar with dragons. His father never told him stories like that. He mostly told him stories of whaling trips he took. So when the dragon emerged from the water his first thoughts were "Oh look, Nessie grew wings." And then "Wait, was Nessie friendly?" And then "Wait, animals don't just suddenly grow wings, what is this creature?" He pondered this thought for a bit while he stared at the creature dumbstruck.

Meritursas feels the small tentacled creature he had attacked before moving through the water.  It seemed to be heading straight for them.  With some difficulty, he turns himself towards the approaching meal and starts dragging himself across the reef towards it.

Gilda was feeling dizzy and her mouth was dry. Her gills gaped uselessly and her pupils were dilated and unfocused. All she could think about was the burning feeling in her neck and cheeks and the headache that was coming and going like the waves of the blasted water that made her feel like this.

----------------

Wheke heard the creature next to him speak English. Well. They knew it could do that. "It's a snake obviously." Wheke informed Jaw. Wheke then noticed the dark shape coming toward them in the water. It couldn't be. The words 'big mouth' was all Wheke needed to hear. "YOULL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE!" Wheke tries to get to the large snake before whatever is in the water can get a hold of them.

{I'm thinking I might use the Futurama pronouns of 'shim' because 'them' makes it sound multiple. Or just swap between him and her}

*sigh* whatever. The basic gist of the post was the dragon casually pranced up to the boat and started sniffing people. Kate was surprised, the dragon saw Gilda was dehydrated and knew she didn't like salt, filtered out some water and spat it on her. I don't want to type it all out again.)

Jaw panics.

He didn't know what to do! Hitting or screaming at the monster wasn't helping...

So, he tries something else. Something he's been trying to master for a while.

Thinking!

"I...GET YOU MORE FOOD FOR TENTACLE FRIEND?? I GIVE YOU...LOTS...FISHES..."

Gilda felt the water splash onto her and it took a moment to process what happened. That was fresh water! She looked up to see this towering scaley creature looking right at her. Did it just spit on her?! "H-hello?..." She was still a little out of it but her gills weren't hurting as much.

----------

Wheke was winded as s/he hit the deck and let out a groan. "I... Win... Again!" Two-Nil on the scoreboard for Wheke vs Monster. Heck yeah.

"Oh hello other fish person! Nice to meet you! My name's Trevor, what's yours?" Trevor instantly exclaimed at the sight of Wheke. He wanted to make friends with him/her because the last time he didn't make friends with a fish person things didn't go well.

46 minutes ago, Youknowwho said:

Nice to meet you!

{I can only read that with sarcasm dripping off the words.}

Wheke sat up and stared at the thing addressing s/him. It was sorta like those monkey things s/he'd seem around the island but not as hairy or small. This one spoke English too, at least that was something. Wheke stood up. "Hello hairless primeape thing!" S/he hoped that was an acceptable term. S/he'd never met one of these things before.

Oh, this humanish fish spoke human! That was new... The saltless water seemed to have helped though. A little more couldn't hurt then. The dragon dunked it's head under the water and gulped up some more. She positioned her head over the humanist fish and, after a moment of staring into empty space, spat out the leftover water in a stream.

Kate was overwhelmed; there was a bit much going on at the moment. She shook her head and looked at the purplish wiggly thing that the monster gave her as an apology. "Uhm, I forgive you." She answered. The shinny thing that just showed up by the boat seemed to be helping the green lady, so she wasn't too worried about that. She walked over to Trevor and tapped him on the arm. "Could I fish some more please?"

Trevor was delighted to hear that Kate wanted to fish again! "Well of course! Go ahead!" he said, handing his rod back to her. "Oh uh, once you're done. Go ahead and bring the rabbit up here. I'm sure it'll like to be back on the boat."

Double spaces are for chumps

(MERITURSAS has joined the party!)

Wiffleball glanced back at the boat. The dragon had flown over there a little while ago, perhaps because of all the noise and movement. He couldn't really blame it; after all, it wasn't like the reef was too-too interesting. Come to think of it, how long had he spent out there? He looked down. Long enough to amass two armfulls of coral, at least. He gently lowered his collection to the ground and nodded, admiring his hard work. Scooping the pile back up into his arms, he decided it was about time to head back to the boat.

{I can just imagine this conversation devolving into slower and dumber English}

Perhaps this Trevor creature wasn't as smart as first thought. "Nice meet Trevor." Wheke places a hand on their own chest. "Wheke. Wh-e-ke" Another one of he Trevor creatures approached. They spoke to eachother. But. Not in broken English. Strange... "Hello small Trevor creature!"

-----

Gilda relished in the freshwater the large reptile was giving her. Her headache cleared a little and the burning stopped. Whatever this thing was, was her hero.
