Kissing and other Emotes - Should they have more effect-wise?

Recommended Posts

Sooooo...

We use these emotes to visually express our... emotions in relation to the game... be it being annoyed at another player or saying a polite goodbye but ending up with a fist-bye...

Aside from that, should it have an in-game effect too?

I would personally love to use an emote to aggravate pigs into chasing you, leading them to a threat you want to kill... or befriending them...

or...

Befriend players adding them to a whitelist/antagonizing players adding them into a blacklist... a seemingly prevalent issue in the game regarding trust, grieving, trolling and what not...  or even be used to raise your sanity when using a positive emote towards other players and decease sanity when using a negative emote...

Any takers?

Something about this reminds me of The Sims... I hope we can add/not add the "WooHoo" emote...

Wolfgang: Why tent is moving fire-girl?

Willow: Uhh... O__O

Wickerbottom: Willow, have you seen Wilson? I have something to discuss with him about food production.

Wolfgang: I think I saw smart man with ghost girl...

...

*Everyone stares at the tent...

Oh...

O__O

They're wrestling...

Can't edit the title so...
Title correction: Kissing and other Emotes: Should they do more in-game effect-wise?

The text in the spoiler made my sides hurt. I believe it could be an interesting mechanic, but it could also be used as a troll mechanic to just lower players sanity by doing negative emotes spamming it. However I like the idea.

Yes, that had crossed my mind... but I thought that, while they were performing the emote, a player could just get near them and kill them (if pvp is on) or a simple vote-kick could be done to get them out...

But yes, I agree that the trolling potential is great in that one... though the in-game mechanics can give a solution.

... Wrestling...

O__O

I love the idea of using emotes for gameplay, myself.

If not that, at least make a few group emotes, and some emotes that are character specific.

The former for a more social time, and the latter just for character personality.

I can't help laughing with this example xDDD

Oh man I wish there were some in-game actions but it could be sometimes confusing. For ex. you want to anger pigs while you are with someone who hasn't seen them yet. You make some angry emote and your friend might think he/she did something wrong. Or in the opposite way. Willow burns your farm (accidentaly of course...) and you want to show her how angry you are. Unfortunatly some pigs were on screen and so you get even more angry because of pigs killing you.

But seriously your example is hillarious xD
