A knock comes from Shana's door, "The seer requests your presents Shana," a gravelly voice said. Vennyle was looking through the mirror in her room, beckoning her to come closer.

"Well... I guess that's a yes. Time for me to put my powers to use!"

Ethel murmurs an incantation, causing dark spikes to erupt out of the ground near the hounds. It manages to kill one of them, but all of the other spikes miss. Ethel puts his tome back, more focused on managing his sanity. He draws his spear, and enters a basic fighting stance.

Jakob tightens his grip on his broadsword, then walks out of the forest.  The fire jumps out of his hands and spreads across the ground like a liquid.

"Why, hello there."  He says, reaching out his open palm.  He slowly curls his lower arm upwards, and the two red hounds rise into the air.

"Boom."  He says, clenching his hand into a fist.  The hounds explode violently as the fire within them breaks out from its fleshy boundaries, splattering the remaining dogs with the remnants of their fallen brethren.  Jakob draws the flames around himself in a snakelike form, spinning it around slowly.

"So, who's first?"  He asks.

Bonnie arrived just in time to hear and see that explosion.

As the event happens, Bonnie stops and observes the fires coming out of the hound like fireworks.

After a moment of aphasia she whispers.

"So...wonderful..."

The hounds stop jumping excitedly at the sight of Paul and Greg exploding, and the Varg seemed more angry at the fact Battal got blood on it's fur rather than their deaths. There were about twelve hounds left, including the Varg, and they didn't seem too happy. Alas, they remembered what was coming and ran towards the humans with frenzy.

Bonnie had no time to react as a hound chomped her while she starred amazed at their gruesome, yet brilliant, demise.

"Ooh, looks like I'm popular!"  Jakob says, sending the serpentine mass of fire into a hound.  It punches the animal and sets it on fire at the same time, sending it flying into a nearby tree with a sickening crunch.  Meanwhile, the liquid fire sweeps slowly across the ground, engulfing any hound foolish enough to get close.

Ethel lunges at the hounds on top of Bonnie, knocking them off. He helps her up off the ground.

"Up up! Can't have anyone on the ground!"

Ethel withdraws his tome, and shouts an incantation. Ethel's spear becomes enveloped by shadows, and the spear feel lighter.

Ethel's weapon is now buffed to be able to swing faster, but they hurt the enemy less.

Ethel spins his spear in a circle in front of him, and enters a fighting stance.

"Alright, everyone can fight now! Me and the fire dude aren't the only people here, right!?"

"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!"

Not waiting for an answer, Bonnie points to the hound the wounded arm he closed its jaws on.

An interesting fact was how she was not bleeding even if her arm was badly damaged, and how she was not screaming.

"STUPID DOG!!"

The girl trambles a bit, then under the layer of what seems like skin, worm-like creatures start moving and deforming the limb, which then bursts out in a sword appendix. Decorated with a big eyeball moving its sight from side to side, the sword looked like a living entity linked to Bonnie.

"Fear my body!!"

Bonnie swings at the monster with her sword arm rised.

(Ive just noticed how Bonnie's artstyle and design keeps changing every time I draw her)

(I just love the contrast between an epic battle with the exploding hounds and Shana's quiet stroll through a mirror XD)

"I have. Th-thank you." Shana yawns and clumsily attaches the cloak, the haze of sleep slowly wearing off.

"Where are we going?"

"NO! WAIT! IT'S CHASING YOU!"

Ethel flips through his tome, as he sends missiles of darkness at the Varg in hopes of distracting it. Just as the missiles leave Ethel's control, he is tackled by one of the hounds. It tries to bite down on him, but Ethel places the spear in between its jaws.

"Someone, stop the big one!"

As Jakob's fire flood grows, it begins to glow with unnatural heat.  On the edges, tendrils of flame randomly snap out and turn hounds into charred corpses.  Jakob himself wades through the hounds, cleaving and incinerating everything around him.  He notices the Varg charging Wunan.

"Behind you!"  He yells, sending the serpent of fire after the giant wolf; however, it is slow, and leaves him open to attack.

Wunan spun around quickly, as per the warnings of the strangers, saw as the Warg was closing in. With the time granted by the firey and shadowy attacks, Wunan was able to propel himself upwards as the staff grew, sending him far out of the hound's reach. A lone hair floated gently down to the ground as Wunan stuck his tongue out at his large opponent.

The missiles of darkness and fire serpent plunge towards the unsuspecting Varg. But, peculiarly, they collide and fizzle, leaving dust in their wake. The darkness completely killed the flame, the first hint to the puppets of the internal struggle between the two. The Varg leaps for Wunan, but smashes against an invisible wall and suddenly the night becomes darker.

A demented thing emerges from the darkness, a cursed, bestial creature that was twice the size of the Varg and a strange black in color. It's glowing eyes gazing deeply at each person, and it's dark aura killing the flames. The hounds and Varg quickly flee, not wanting to spoil their leaders plans. It let out a deranged grin and spoke. "Well who do we have here? Hmmmm? A pack of humans? What brings all of you into the night?" The beast spun around, and grabbed Wunan, placing him with the rest of the party and looked distraught at the dead hounds, "What brought you to murder my kin? Had they wronged you?" It's questioning gaze marking each person.

.................................................

The light bends around everything and they enter a small, decorated room through an ornate mirror. "My room." Vennyle collapses into a sofa and pats the cushions across from her, motioning Shana to sit. "Do you want to see what the other people here are doing?"

(But... How did he grab Wunan if he's up in the air... Ah, doesn't matter.)

"They were beating up a bird." Wunan replied casually. "I kinda like birds, and it was looking all sad. So I went to help it. The rest was self defense." None of the respect that the firey stranger seemed to present was present in Wunan's speech or expression.

"A test of your skill?" the creature questioned, "You and The Blood Prince have similar ideologies, you would make good friends, and an even greater hunt..." The beasts eyes showed a hint of fear at the mention of his master, but he quickly turned his vision to Wunan. "They needed food, stick man, wouldn't you kill if you were hungry? And what about those frogs you murdered by the pond? What if someone were to run up and bash your skull in for doing so?"  The over-sized wolf starred deeply into Wunan's eyes, with a seriousness that could make any man uncomfortable.
