I found some troll obelisks in adventure mode

Knowing me, I wouldn't have explored that top part yet and instead proceed to waste time getting through the obelisks.

I started on the left side and went over the top path to the right side where I found the rightmost obelisks.  I then spent a lot of time preparing for my voyage through the obelisks, building up a good supply of jerky to restore my sanity when I ventured through to the other side. Finally I gathered my courage and swept up my hard earned supplies and went through the obelisks, sucking down all the jerky on the other side to restore my sanity. It was only when I opened my map did I realize the obelisks had trolled me.

I don't think this is a troll. Every adventure mode I have been in, there was obelisks, and I have tried many attempts.

OP means the obelisks were useless since there's an alternate non-sanity-draining path to the same patch of land. I've been trolled by a similar map. Like OP, I went through the obelisks first before finding the easier route. :(

really? I have found a map where it is just a island with obelisks blocking my path. I didn't have any dark flowers to lower my sanity. Then I died right when finding the obelisks. I guess I just not lucky.

That's the usual setup for most chapters in Adventure Mode. :) Islands accessible only via wormholes or obelisks. It's just funny when you work hard to cross the obelisks only to discover there's an easier way all along.

Oh, and regarding sanity, if you can't find dark flowers or mushrooms, have you tried running in and out of the dark at night? It drains sanity quickly. But you have to be careful and go back to the light before Charlie hits you.

That's hilarious. The first time I beat adventure mode I had that happen with the tentacles as well. I just really like exploring the borders though so I quickly found the way around it luckily. I kinda want buildable obelisks in DST so you can keep the crazies out. xD

(would need to have some tag so that only the builder/mobs can tear it down or some such)
