Tom's spider farm!

have you ever wanted those precious spider materials without the hassle of killing them?

well have no fear because your friend tom has discovered a fast and simple way to farm them!

all you need to do is find a spider nest and place rabbit traps around the perimeter of it and vola!

you'll be catching spiders in no time.

anyways here is a picture of what i have so far and it is very very effective.

I used this technique too, but since an update/hotfix the spiders walked through the traps, so I couldn't catch them. Maybe the devs re-fixed it or it's a bug in my game. Now I farm spiders by planting a spider egg in a piggy town. They fight each other at dawn and the next day I can pick up some silk.

I love how that rabbit is just standing there, as if saying 'First time someone isn't farming us only.'

i discovered this by accident when a spider ran into one of my rabbit traps

The stick is just to hold the trap up. The mechanism to close the trap is activated by a laser, which reacts if sth. interrupts the laser. Then an other mechanism produces a blast wave, which knocks the stick down.

Oh, it all makes sense now! Silly me, how couldn't i think about this obvious trigger mechanism.

Obviously the trap contains spikes on the inside, impaling everything getting caught.

Because of the new cost reduction when buiding it, you had to remove some of those spikes. That's why some animals survive.

I already knew about it but didn't bother since it was easy enough killing 4 spiders at a time. Now that there's around 8 coming out when you hit the nest I've been using a few traps to cut the numbers back down to what they were

Indeed, it helps a lot with those level three spider nests that have a lot of spiders in them, dealing with them gets really easier.

Wow i didn't actually think a lot of people didn't know about this.I thought it was well known.I knew about it but's it's more fun fighting them and getting pwned because it teaches me to be less ballsy :PP

i knew about it but never try it out because it was real easy killing 4 of them before, now that it spawn in 8 or 9 it takes forever to kite them and u end up losing their meat cuz the other spider ran back and eat them all

nothing lol i just dont have as many rocks....beside 6 crock pot i don't even use for anything else and im running out of rocks already >.<

Watch anything fighting tentacles is always fun!

I am sad. I didn't know you could catch spiders in traps. I usually just camp outside a nest or two and wait till dark, then pick them off so i don't get swarmed. I only used the traps for rabbits the first couple days i played, then went to spear hunting them when i got better at it. Well, now I have a reason to make the traps again.
