I think that you will find, it is in fact raw.

The fact that you have to put a pot "behind" an (artificially) created tile and then let a pip plant a seed into the tile, which in turn "plants" it somehow in the pot, and then you can copy it and apply it to any other pot, was always nonsensical and clearly originally not intended. It was most likely an oversight by the developers before.

This absurdity becomes even more apparent now that the Aquatic Planet Pack adds 3-tile-wide plants, which makes that pot-planting even more ridiculous.

Adjusted line thickness of new asteroids.

What does this mean? What line?

BTW I haven't checked in this build yet, but in the last one, squid's status when it was using or going into the aquatic critter condo still used "water fort" in the status string.

I like this. However, I was thinking it might be better or more appropriate if the amount of light passing through it were somewhat reduced. After all, the airflow tiles consist of solid lines that obstruct light passing through them. Maybe the amount of light could be reduced by 50% (or any other meaningful percentage). Similarly, mesh tiles could reduce the amount of light by only 20% (less obstruction).

This would make it more distinctive and interesting than simply treating it as completely unobstructed glass tiles.

What about Smooth Hatches? Are they not supposed to consume Zinc Ore and convert it into its refined form, Zinc?

:( That was so cool.

Any chance we can get a coloring option for lamps?

I know this might be my own opinion , but is there any way we can change the artwork on some of the new critters, its kindof clear its not the same artist with the same design rules ,

Even just the seaquine. it looks like it doesn't belong.

I have to not be the only one. Im not saying they look bad, i think they look rather good. I think effort went into them.

i just don't think they look like they belong. the blowter is perfect, the beakon good too, but that seaquine just looks like something out of a different game.its too angular i think.

Maybe thats just me.

@tedward603 You're not alone. To me, blowter also seems a bit off. Probably line thickness is different. But I just watched some youtube videos. Haven't played the beta.

Also I really really want natural background tiles to be on every other planetoids.

Food situation in the new expac feels too tight early on.

Several of the geyser descriptions don't really explain anything about how they work (Tidal Springs, Thermal Gas Fissure.) Doesn't seem to be any analyze function on these, which is fine. Knowing the tidal springs consume their liquid in time is very important information.

Cant seem to be able to remove backwalls (which are really awesome), without building over them. Not sure if there is a way to generate natural back wall tiles for the folks that want to pip plant onto them (like a mad lad) before flooding an area. Making big pip plant farms with my glass maker is definitely one of my favorite time killers in the mid game.

Unless you click at the bottom of a tower kelp, it will not tell you they use 40 kg/pdirt per cycle in the description. Encyclopedia log is fine.

Add some kind of texture to brine and salt water in materials overlay for liquids. Still very hard to visually resolve them.

There are enough metals and such in the game now where it would be nice to have large tables (like on the wiki) so a player can decide what metal to use for what purpose.

Iridium is such an important stepping stone until the late late game thermium, it would be nice to see a similar metal available rather rapidly. The prehistoric planet pack start location just feels  infinitely better compared to all others because of that. Being able to trigger the demoliar event on any start planet would be a cool map gen option to have.

Rubber boots in research panel incorrectly state they are made at the crafting station.

Suggestion: Decor item for dupes for even higher than private bedroom: Wardrobe - Scales up an extra morale based on how many different outfits are stored in it. I've always disliked the extra clothing laying around after everyone is equipped. Having somewhere to put them would be nice. Could give the dupe like 10% of the clothing's bonus if they slept in a room with that item in the wardrobe even though they aren't wearing it. Clothing just feels like its missing something! Heck make a critter that eats it to excrete coquina (since there is no regenerative source of it that i saw).

Those are my initial impressions.

This is the best expansion I've seen so far. Good job!
