Personally, I think that's a great idea! After spending so long working on big spectacle bosses, I think a change of pace is just what everyone needs right about now. One thing I'd like to see is more variance to the seasonal weather. I personally love all the different weather mechanics of the DSAlone DLCs, but I'm pretty sure Klei's gone on record as saying they don't want to just drag-n-drop content like that, which I can respect. Maybe they could use the Moonstorm system to give us localized blizzards? IDK, I just think it'd be neat to shake up the day-to-day survival a little - something to make having a fully-furnished base not automatically ensure easy survival form then on out. What about some kind of reputation system with the various follower mobs? Like, if you help spruce up and expand the village he'd give you better trades, or if you kill lots of pigs around the Pig King he'll stop trading with you for a while instead. Maybe if enough players have a really low reputation at the same time you'd start seeing patrols of angry pigs wandering around like in WX's refresh short. What about y'all? Got any ideas for how to spice up the early survival loop? Especially wildfires should be revisited, even if the only thing that is added are character quotes when one occurs. Maybe large areas would be marked with an extended smothering time so that wildfires feel more significant (and detectable). An equivalent for pengulls in summer (perhaps a bug) would also be nice. I don't know why Winter gives a small warning as you approach frostbite temperatures but Spring skips it. I will also give the prestigious potato cup emote to the patch notes that grant me the ability to disable the insanity filter and noises. (Let it be a deliberate choice when making your world!) More World Generation/World Settings options. We got things to make it easier, but not much to make it harder. Yeah, I love pets but them having hunger is why I don't use them. It's totally fine for them to be useless and just be little cuties, but why make them scream for food when they don't do anything. Just keep them cute little buggers without the hunger plz. I can't tell you how peeved I am playing the game and the amount of building areas is shrunk having to compensate for world to look like a dead bush. It's even worse in the caves, that thing looks like I threw spaghetti on the floor. I feel like cutting the line in half would make the joke better You'll hear this punny enemy make a billion obvious puns and jokes while fighting you, so when you hear him say it it's only natural to think he'd make the most low-hanging fruit of a pun. If you're going to tell me that him doing that is good because it punishes them for relying on an "easy" food source: we already have spring. In-world fishing handbook or something like that, similar to the gardeneer hat and the cookbook, because the fishing system currently is overcomplicated. Would also help satisfy the completionist instinct in me Let us choose which telelocator focus to teleport to when using the staff, instead of just being teleported to the nearest one, so there's more reason to build more focuses. If the cost per teleport remains as high as it does (3.4 purple gems, 0.4 living logs, 0.8 nightmare fuel, and 50 sanity--all of which gets doubled if you're using the staff to teleport back, and doesn't even factor in setup cost), please consider letting us use them in the caves, including the ruins and atrium. Cave seasons (this is what I want most but also what would probably take the most work) so that seasons down there aren't just fall, cold, rainy, and fall 2.0. So much in the world aboveground changes each season besides just the temperature and whether you need an eyebrella, let the world belowground get some changes to. Telegraph the story better: offenders here are mostly Crab King (it is not at all intuitive just from sight that this massive hulk is Pearl's long-lost love who you're supposed to give the pearl to, and while I get that there's a lore reason for that, still doesn't help figure it out) and the exact setup for Fuelweaver. On the topic of scrapbooks, I wish the updated entries stood out more. I actually do enjoy engaging with collecting character quotes in my scrapbook, but finding the entries with the sparkle is weirdly difficult. I would ask for the ability to sort newly updated entries to the top of the list, but since that would require implementing a whole sorting system I can settle for just making the current indicator of an updated entry be easily spotted when you're scrolling the list moderately quickly. Everyone knows there's always rain on day 6, that its always colder at the near end of autumn, that temperature magically dials down when the color filter changes. This sort of stuff needs more randomness, badly. Basically port the entirety of Shipwrecked and Hamlet into DST so the gameplay mechanics from those expansions can become base game content. Mainly I’m talking about things like Smashing Pots which could contain loot, or could contain some mob that wants to attack you. Compared to Solo DS + it’s DLCs, DST is literally just a boss fight simulator that’s entire profit & hook to keep people playing it: Is it’s damn Skins. (& maybe the few dlc characters that aren’t in solo DS) But I’m pretty sure no one is playing to fight Celestial Scion. Boomerangs need a small dmg increase so Wendy, and Wes can kill birds on their own. Lucy dmg increase. I really do think she should deal spear dmg, but she should at least deal axe dmg minimum. I'd also like to see weaknesses, and resistance in some creatures. Like Axes dealing more dmg to Treeguards, Pickaxes breaking the guard on Rock Lobsters Like how Volt Goats charge from eletric dmg.
