Changes

  • Speeded up Grainy Transmission's crafting speed.
  • Reduced the Phasmo-Encapsulator recipe cost.
  • The arena will now require at least one of each type of Gestalt caught by a Phasmo-Encapsulator.
  • The arena will now let things into the area if approached from the outside and no longer causes contact damage.
    • The arena will not have visual beams for the barrier until new art is finished.
  • Added Hermit Rehomer to the Crabby Hermit's selection when at the Moon Quay Island.
  • While Phasmo-Encapsulator is equipped, players can now use the action key (e.g. [Spacebar]) to trigger the Encapsulate action.
  • Thermal Stones will now take durability damage when being targeted by Thermalock Missiles.
  • Rebalanced Celestial Revenant to have less health, and revive to a lower health percentage.
  • Rebalanced Enlightened W.A.R.B.O.T. to have increased health and be more aggressive when under greater threat.
  • Added the final phase of the boss fight after defeating Enlightened W.A.R.B.O.T.
    • The death sequence is temporary.
    • In this patch, W.A.R.B.O.T.’s drones will despawn along with it for now, but we do plan on letting players repair and claim any remaining Terramites.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the arena having save and load cycle issues with the Celestial Revenant.
  • Fixed the arena collision not orienting correctly for clients.
  • Fixed ghosts being able to float into and out of the arena when the barrier is up.
  • Fixed tiles like docks being able to be placed when adjacent to temporary tiles.
  • Fixed Structure Alignment forcing things like turf trying to deploy at the tile's center.
  • Fixed a bug with Mini Glaciers spawning off of the world near the ice island.
  • Fixed Rabbit King being provoked when killing a Void Masque-controlled rabbit.
  • Fixed Void Masque-controlled creatures from sharing hostility to non-Void Masque-controlled creatures of the same kind.
  • Thermalock Missiles will now properly include Scorching Sunfish, Winona’s Generators, and smoldering objects when detecting heat signatures.
  • Thermalock Missiles, Thermal Stones, and Thermbells will now account for Ice Crystaleyezers when doing temperature calculations.
  • Fixed bug with Walter still taking max health penalty when drowning.
  • Fixed bug where Abigail’s command wheel could be opened with the new control even when she was not summoned.
  • Fixed bug with Terramites and Warblers being unexpectedly activated by Celestial Revenant.
  • Fixed bug where Terramites and Warblers could be teleported off the island.

Notes for Modders

  • The emote wheel now has a default fallback that will be used as a texture for the time being. In the future we want to do a pass on it to change it from the console version of using textures to a full skins puppet animation rig setup so even modded characters will work without tuning.

I'm crying. Tears. Lots of them. But for joy this time!

I was jokingly hoping for this to be a thing. I'm utterly surprised (AND THANKFUL) it's being considered ahaha. Awesome!

I don't really like the sound of the increase to WARBOT's health. I feel like that's really unnecessary. It was fairly lengthy solo as-is, especially considering there's a whole other phase to be done afterwards. I just don't like the sound of it.

EDIT: Maybe it's specifically when there are more people? It's not exactly clear, it's a weird sentence. That's fine if it's the case, though.

Klei, with all respect, what is even the point of Pearl's eviction arc? This change is not as bad as the first iteration but the new place we put her still won't be her unique teadrop-shaped island. Unfortunately, players can't create new islands and there are only a few in the world right now. By placing the new boss arena there we are losing a unique landmark, a piece of land in the ocean that's unlike any other place in the constant, irreplaceable and admittedly, very beautiful. Her place is like a little wildlife preserve with unique features, shapes and atmosphere. None of the new spots on the map will match what she had there - it won't have the same plugged fissures, the iconic curves of the shore, the surrounding waters on all sides. We could only do a poor imitation of her place on some peninsula if we would like to keep it cohesive with what it used to be. New turf can be placed down but it won't be the same, it will always feel modded or placed via console since Pearl is supposed to be on her island.

Why can't the new boss fight be on a new island, why does she have to move at all? Why can't the new boss fight happen in one of the Lunar satellite islands or on the main Lunar island, where Celestial Champion fight is already happening? The boss surrounds its arena with the new circuit fence anyway so it's not like it's crucial that the new boss spawns on an island for the fight restriction purposes. Why can't a new small floating junk island appear as a result of all Wagstaff's experiments in the Constant? We could then expand this new scrap island with new scrap docks as intended and still have the same boss arena, just on a separate island and not on Pearl's. The ocean has so much empty space in it that is currently occupied by sea stacks and floating boards that don't add anything new to the gameplay.

Please reconsider your decision while there's still time. It doesn't have to be this way. At the very least, consider allowing us to destroy scrap docks after this boss fight and bring Pearl back home (which would be still very annoying if you want to fight the new boss multiple times and still have Pearl live in her original home).

Huh? I thought they were pretty cute the way they were? Did I miss something?

You said it! It's really awful that they're literally forcing us to evict an innocent old lady who we've spent half the damn game helping if we want to play through all the endgame content the game has to offer.

@V2C I dunno if you're the one to ask, but can someone from Klei please explain the logic here?

The fine print that states "we are going to evict grandmothers and flatten your island base" of course, I should have seen it. It's so incredibly detailed from the 3 sentences it gives you.

Wait does this actually mean using an ice crystaleyezer setup with thermals for heat will work for all seasons now

There's some REALLY BIG MAJOR story spoilers left over in the files.

I'll leave a spoiler, it's some frames of a lengthy anim. There's also drops to go with it, seemingly.

Spoiler

Open them against a dark background. The Scion physically grabs him and erupts with him internally.
There's also drops to go with it, seemingly.

Damn, that puts him on par with Charlie in terms of power, I always thought it was kind of weird that he was the other side of the coin but he was just a guy making a mess in the moon territory as if he were a third power, not exactly the opposite of Charlie, her primarily enemy as expected

You should probably spoiler tag this

Spoiler

Interesting, that's not my interpretation of what's going on. The first frame looks like he's being grabbed by a hand, and he looks pained in the second frame, while he's abandoned his gear in the third.

It seems to me that Wagstaff has finally been caught, and Altar is taking over as the primary antagonist.

I assume the same thing will happen with Charlie and from here on out the Primordial forces will be the kingmakers of the constant.

If you notice, this Wagstaff is not an illusion, at least it's what it appears to be, is he coming to the constant finally?

Couldn't Wagstaff just build his mess on one of the little Moon Islands form archipelago?

I'm kind of attached to Pearl's hook-shaped place with all the renovation and beautification...

The Moon Islands on the other hand have no purpose for the moment (I sometimes teleport a Voltgoat there to keep it from world's harm, but other than that they have no use whatsoever).
