Does anyone use rabbit horns?

Recommended Posts

I dont see it as a daily inventory extension like chester or bundles but as a complementary item to use when they arent stuff (farming huge quantities of materials, moving stuff to build, ruins crafting, etc) or when they arent avaraible in MP so i think the cost is fine for those moments

Im sure people will use it more and more as they get used to it.

It's very nice for transporting ruins loot back to the cave entrance!

Before the rework general crabking strategy was to fill every slot of him with purple gems which only requires 1 slot after ruins rushing but after they changed him most characters need at least one of every gem, Which requires a lot of inventory slots. I started doing dragonfly before CK just because I could not leave ruins with all the loot and gems. Perfectly fixes that issue to be honest.

Seems fine on durability to me as it seems more like a add on to existing storage options having an additional storage for items you might want to bring with you but won't use too often is fairly nice.

But would you give up an inventory slot to carry around an item you'd rarely use? Or where would you leave it such that you can reliably access it when you do need the contents of the burrow?

I'd go with the horn you usually don't need all of your inventory slots but having a bunch of emergency slots if I need them for one reason or another at the cost of one inventory slot is good.

Since it can't die and I don't need to unwrap and rewrap it.

Well the horn isn't too expensive, it's just summoning the rabbit king that is troublesome in terms of carrot cost. I can see some pretty niche use cases in a solo environment, like placing loot from monkey island there so they can't steal it, or ruins raiding. It's defo not for just everyday use that's for sure.

I’m unsure how I feel about the horn. I imagine it probably wouldn’t hurt to shove one in shadow storage to quickly open up an extra inventory on the go from things like magician boxes, but I can’t imagine keeping one on myself in particular.

I think the biggest issue is the fact it only has 3 uses, which makes using it for pit stops a bit difficult. As @HeatAndRunsaid, it could be more helpful if it got reworked so they could stack up to 10 and you got 3 horns per “trade”.

What if the burrow had unlimited stack size or could be upgraded with the Elastispacer ? I think even by default that could make it a much more interesting storage vault considering its usage economy.

If the burrow was like a tall chest, that would be OP, but I would for sure use it. I don't know why it needs to be a communal hole and not just personal storage. I wish it was more like the Terraria piggy bank where anyone can use it, but they only see their own portable inventory. It would actually give us a way to securely stow away loot that other people can't access.

The fact that it's this thing that breaks after 3 uses means you need to also have backup horns handy, but the more backup horns you stash in the burrow, the less space there is in the burrow for other things. This means you have to negotiate between less space (making it less useful), or more space (with the risk of locking you out of your access to the loot), and of course any other player can always just open the burrow and take the horns or loot anyway.

I hope the Portable Den space can still be shared in Forest World and Cave World.

I wish you could put a rabbit in it to make it a rabbit burrow. Need a way to replenish rabbit dens like you can with moleworms.

Use at least 12 Beard Hair to upgrade it?

Terraria has Safe, Minecraft has Ender Chest, so what should we have?

I cant really think of a scenario where id prefer the horn with its 3 uses over lets say 10 bundle wraps and a stack of rope. Or two horns with 6 uses if u want to match the wraps inventory slot needs.

I dont even use chester for storage beyond the early game.

Once u have the wrap BP, the horn doesnt really seem cheaper than just rope.

I initially thought it might be handy in the caves for example to store a nightmare amulet in it for the various daywalker spawn points, but id rather just make 3 amulets lol.

3 uses seems overly stingy when bundling wraps already exist. Id prefer more durability and a higher cost to go with it, or some other configuration to make it more practical idk

perhaps its more of multiplayer thing
