Belenovent/rabid Rabbit King suggestions & feedback list.

Recommended Posts

I like the guy a lot. He's a fun neat little addition to the early game and giving some spice to the world of rabbits alongside carrots as they have gotten pretty forgotten apart from making the tier 1 magic structure, though i do feel there are some slight issues with it from a gameplay standpoint and how it could be improved.

Rabid Rabbit king:

I think the fight is a little rough for a reward that goes into the lane of being niche. FYI The rabbit king sabre's stats is near identical to a tentacle spike apart from 25 more durability with a sanity drain of -6 per min (tentacle spike being 100 while sabre is 125). The current sabre's ability can make bunnymen panic away from you solely by being near them and deals more dmg to them in favor of losing -6 sanity each hit is dealth.

Which is not a great reward for a fight that's pretty grueling (Will get to that later). I think the weapon's durability should be upped to at least 150 and deal same amount as a fully fresh hambat being 59.5. This makes it more worth it as a boss drop and being somewhat between the hambat and thulecite club in terms of tier. Making it more useful while still giving it the niche ability. On top of that, give the current ability a chance for more bunnymen loot like an extra chance for bunnypuff drop, carrot or meat, giving a more incentive to go killing bunnymen and making the underused fur roll an easier time to get.

The rabbit fight itself is a little too grueling for my taste and too easy without the guards.
instead of the possibility of making them sleep/tank it feels more like a necessity otherwise you get bombarded by the 3 guards with no chance of getting hits in due to being stunlocked to death, for an early game boss that's on par with a varg. Of course, the bunnymen is possibly still a heavy wip since they may or may not be completely finished, maybe with a new attack in mind who know so it is a bit tough to suggest what to do with them.. But i do want to point out without the guards, the fight is really just sitting there waiting for him to do his thing. he misses and you get a bunch of hits in, he hits you and now you just have to do a staring contest until he feels like kicking you again. I think it'd be more interesting when the guards are there he takes a step back but when he's alone he should do a melee attack, headbutt ram with his horns, or a chomp with his fangs and the occasional hop with a shorter stun duration to make the fight have a more interesting loop. Maybe have a new type of guard that are just rabbits, greater in numbers but slower smaller and weaker. This would also make it feel like you're fighting all rabbit/bunny types against their king. That and then the weapon suggestions also make it a much more of a worthty item drop. overall this would make it feel much more like a fight i think with a better reward. of course, this is also an early game boss (mini-boss?) so i could be overselling this whole fight for how early you can get it. Either way, without the guards he's too easy.

Otherwise the last thing i'd want is a cute little fight theme for the guy. He deserves it.

Belevonent rabbit king:

When it comes to the belenovent rabbit king I think all his trades are really neat. Now that the carrot coat hiding the scent of meat is added which were one of the favored suggestions. I still think there could be some extra features and changes to the other rabbit related items.

the Warren wreath will (soon) have the ability to pick up rabbits by hand, and makes them no longer scared of you. Which is a great idea. But i think we should be able to retrofit rabbit homes or build new ones by using rabbits on the ground while wearing the hat. this makes rabbits a lot less of a hazzle to make farms out of as they're usually pretty spread out and hard to deal with in a large quantity, as rabbits have fallen under the less use of food for a long time. This would incentivize to use rabbits more than ever as a farm source and seek out the king for a good purpose.

the coat of carrots is pretty much perfect, though it does rot pretty fast for costing 8 carrots. Maybe up the freshness of it and it's pretty much done. (Or maybe make it so monster characters can't get attacked by rabbits?)

The horn is a great addition and pretty much the only thing i'd want is more durability uses from it.

Okay next feature is pretty much a niche idea but can we also feed the rabbit carrots for like a piece of gold? I just wanna feed the lil guy honestly, this is more so just a personal feature i'd want just because it'd be cute.

Right now we can spawn the rabbit king how many times we want if we have enough carrots, so getting sabres for the whole server is possible early game.

But I would like to suggest we could repair it using beard hair. However, the item could still break, this is to have incentive for fighting the rabbit king again if the player dont pay attention to the durability.

idk why on earth it's called a sabre. It was called a crook on it's debut and it's shaped like a crook. Even scaring bunnymen seems like something a crook does.

Idk anymore.

caves suck, bridges suck and it's not a sabre

Please keep the topic at hand relevant to the post and be constructive if so.

im sorry but just why are you like this? It has absolutely nothing to do with the original topic and just overall negative. And then you just keep on about the bridges on posts not even about them. It's honestly really tiring at this point

(very cool suggestions though, shark. rabbit relocation has some farm potential)

Does the rabbit king have bunny tuft loot? Like I legit hate fighting Bunnymen for tufts, are these part of its loot table/trade table?

Heck just following behind “Lucky” Rabbit could passively drop tuft furs like the Bearger, Idk..

Oo, I definitely like the idea of beard hair having a use as a repair item as currently it's really not an item you'd sought out for. Especially in late game where you just have some laying around in storage.

To add to this, I don't mind the idea of feeding carrots to the Wreath to help increase freshness, as it is just a rabbit sitting on your head. This shouldn't affect player decision in trading for more Warren Wreaths as it's cheap to trade in, doesn't require carrots as a component, and multiplayer would give a need to trade in more Wreaths.

Yeah i don't see why not. it's a live rabbit on top so i don't see why that should be a problem. Great suggestion :)

I would like if the King would let us craft a deploy-able throne for him. So that he remains as a sort of permanent tradable NPC alongside Pig King/Merm King. Maybe a new trade when on the throne for some carrot seeds.

While i do like this idea on paper. I feel as though that would ruin the point of being lucky in finding the lucky rabbits and wouldn't have much of a discovery type feeling to it.

i am already on team "just my life now" for wearing bunny hats so being able to feed it like the eye of terror hat would be absolutely brilliant!

Okay so! New patch! lots of rabbit changes.
The rabbit guards now have their own spritework as well as drops. The drops are essentially the same as a bunnymen and a beardlord at the same time. but still only drops 1 thing at a time which more or less means there is less chance for puffs compared to a regular bunnyman BUT it does mean we can get bunnypuffs on the surface just by fighting this fella.
the drops goes as follows: 25% for 1 bunnypuff  OR 35% for 1 of meat/carrot/beardhair/monstermeat.

The rabbt king "sabre" is now called  the 'rabbit king cudgel'. FYI: Cudgel in term means something alikes of a short stick used as a weapon.

While the possibility of the wreath being able to relocate rabbits is not added, it now works properly to pick up rabbits, which, after testing it out. is honestly enough without the relocating ability. I'm satisfied.

some more quotes have been filled out for the characters. Although the most notable is Maxwell. It seems him and the lucky rabbit has some history together.

I was not expecting lore with rabbits but looks like this is Maxwell's original rabbit he used for his magic tricks as William Carter, though looks like he was a bit of a hazzle to work with. Although the Constant has changed it into the classic jackalope type rabbit. (Did Maxwell send his rabbit into the Constant due to pettiness?). It seems his quarrel with Simon has made him have a hatred for rabbits/bunnies in general. No wonder he banished the bunnymen into the caves..

While it's difficult to notice any changes in the fight the rabid king does appear to be much more active with his attacks rather than just standing there.
