I’m not the poster, but there is a way to link multiple telepads and use them like a network. In short, provided you are standing on a telepad, you can place 2+ telepads down that are identical distances from each other, and walk towards the one you want to warp to while still standing on the telepad. Doing so allows you to create a network of then provided you follow the distancing rule, as the movement makes you ever so slightly closer to one and ever so slightly further from the others.

Here’s an image from my friends of them doing just that, back when the range was 50 tiles. All they had to do was walk a tiny bit to the direction they wanted to go in and then use the telebrella.

Should be noted that unless you are using client mods and/or placing them in perfectly straight directions it is extremely difficult to determine where the exact range is. I would hope they would allow a way to be able to do this legitimately, since it is a neat approach to just using the map and warping IMO.

Amazing Update, thank you so much Klei!
I love, that you are not afraid to buff Winona in a lot of ways. She was one of the worst characters before and needed this badly.

Also amazing middle ground with the catapults. Not destroying existing builds and playstiles while giving Winona a lot more Power. Perfect!

Still a bit more work than Wanda but definitely the smartest way to use them, nice strat.

...Oh, wait... This also basically completely replaces Wortox, and even more easily than Wanda... God.

Wortox hasn’t got a skill tree yet, but he is an IMP an Imp is a magical creature with well super human capabilities, I would imagine he’s gonna get some really really cool stuff in his Skill tree.

Such as Being able to bring the dead back to life (Wanda, Wigfrid can already)

Maybe he can even get a cool animation of placing his hand to something to send Imp magic through it, like we see in his animated short.

This could do crazy stuff like.. boost the speed and damage of Beefalo. Etc..

Wortoxs Teleports aren’t the only thing people play him for (you can’t even effectively use them in combat anyway) and I’m 100% sure when he gets his skill tree it won’t be just about teleport buffs.

its ok wortox will get his time to shine. besides wasnt teleporting on him only added a couple of years ago. I'm sure they'll do him right when it's his turn.

Additional soul effects to replace healing would be cool, soul healing itself is an extremely boring perk and it was particularly sad when it was the main valuable thing he had before map teleports. There's definitely potential there. Maybe a vigor effect, a reward for keeping your health above a certain threshold at all times? Or a different effect for souls if your health is full.

just tested, this is untrue. please do not say stuff like this in the future -.-

you always teleport to the NEAREST pad unless you are on a pad, in which case you teleport to the NEXT nearest pad. you do not cycle through them, if you do, please tell me how you are accomplishing this.

I can imagine that you can place them in a way where two are far away but closer to each other, but I'm not sure how you can get it to 4+

Wow, so she really did get thumper in her own way after all... actually I guess it's kinda better since it's portable too

I am aware of this, but that's not what was implied by the previous post. it would also be effectively impossible to perform over water (though I personally will just have a single teleport pair dedicated to the lunar island, moonquay, etc. I suppose for diagonals you could use a^2 (side 1 of a right triangle) + b^2 (side 2 of a right triangle) to get c^2 (the length of the diagonal). so long as the length of the diagonal is approximately the same length as the straight lines it should work well enough (after some adjustments) It's a pain though.

i guess its pretty accurate for the engineer character though.

(you can also inverse it to use c - (a^2 or b^2) = (the remaining one, so b^2 or a^2)

You can work with water via putting a boat with the warp pad + gen on it to serve as a buffer between it and the point you want to reach. Just hope that over the course of that world that boat never moves from its original place for any reason…

You can't measure the distance without a pitchfork or another way of accurately counting the number of tiles. you need a measuring stick.

Admittedly fair, it would be extremely difficult. I just wanted to point out is is technically possible, albeit not exactly realistic without external tools. Apologies if that did sound a bit rude!

Thank you for the apology!

it's definitely technically possible, I was more pointing out the lack of vanilla tools to work on said goal. Though as I mentioned before, it's probably just easier to leave it out of your "network" of teleporters and instead just have a pair for each major island.

Winona's teleporting is SICK. I was honestly interested in bringing back wagstaff's teleporter, and klei did NOT disappoint. of course I want more, but it's hard not to be a liiil greedy when something is cool.

to be honest one of the reasons i love wanda is her "screw this, im going home" teleport, but winona now have a much better theorical going back home teleport, it is certainly more complex to set up things than wanda, and way way later than wortox, so i like how they are all distinct , i cant wait to see what they gonna do for wortox, in a way, giving teleports to people means wortox need more exciting thing to do.

i feel shadow is more effective early for winona then switch to lunar once materials for catapults and teleports are a good idea?
