It was an interesting concept, the "negative" Moggles' vision, 1st couple of times I tried it long long ago. Then made me feel discomfort.

Nowadays I use a mod that filters out not only Moggles vision, but Insanity effects as well, Seasonal filters, Snow-on-ground overlay and pretty much anything else, leaving all elements with their pure color palettes like how they were originally drawn. This in turn makes for a very pleasant visual experience, with vibrant colors for beautiful print-screens, especially with Blooming: On. I really fancy it and don't feel like missing nought "immersion inducing". If anything, Insanity and Seasonal filters make everything dull gray-ish, particularly in Caves (I'm spelunking most times).

Cheating? This isn't a competitive game, not even in pubs. Are there people treating it like it is? For sure. Does that matter? Not at all. Play however you desire.

moggles at 0 sanity actually helps visibility a lot. I'd like it if there were an in game way to adjust the vision at full sanity because it's not very pleasant to look through.

Oh wow, yes it does. I was playing as the "Charlie" mod character--the way she sees at night (in her shadow form) is just straight-up Moggle-vision--and at one point I was confused for a second because "Wait, it IS still night, right? Why is everything THIS bright?" until I realised my sanity was rapidly heading towards the toilet. Lol. (Edit: This particular picture is from an earlier play sesh where I was ALL the way insane. The recent one, it wasn't all the way to zero, but I didn't take a screenshot of that.)

Pictured: Insane-in-the-Membrane Charlie fights a fellow shadow creature. (And by "fights", I mean "gets hit by", because it's me playing.)

Spoiler

...what it looks like at night for Charlie if she _has_ been remembering to take her Vitamin CookedGreenCap. Aww, kitty! My fellow night-creature! <3

:P

...Notorious

I personally keep it on, but I can fully understand if the filter would hurt someone's eyes, or if they would have a hard time seeing with it due to a condition.

I think it'd be a cool thing if there was a setting for certain filters to be off or lessened for clarity.

For short bursts the moggles filter is alright but I mod it out because it gives me a headache when using it for like half an hour like in the ruins. If there was a way to turn it down to like 50% or make it look how it does on low sanity that would be great and I would probably stop modding it out.
