So basically, I was thinking of making the defensive mode A little more spider type reflective I haven’t quite thought out the other how it would affect the other spider types, other than normal spiders, but should have the same as it is, but the one that I did think out was the sea striders so picture this  scenario Say you’re on a boat with a bunch of sea stripers, but you’re going to Rocky Waters not the water type but water filled with rocks and you’re about to crash into one, but you blow your whistle to switch your spiders into defensive mode they Put themselves in between the bow and the rock in due to entity collision you don’t hit the rock

Oh so you’re basically upgrading that ability with the webby whistle? Adding a special ability for each spiders sounds like a lot and from the example you gave that might be a bit too much for a special ability for now at least. But ignoring that it sounds cool.

I’m having trouble thinking of what the spider Pacific defenses for the others spiders would be so I might abandon this idea

I have a few ideas for different spiders but it would be activating their current abilities through the whistle like cave spiders enter shell mode or nurses heal or warriors jump or sea striders could enter the water or hop back on the boat. Also I think the “defensive mode” was just added so after you kill a boss the spiders don’t eat all your loot like deerclops or ancient guardian.

Maybe Webber would become more spidery so other wild spiders will also help him if he was attacked.

I was thinking more like from enough spider to be neutral to a spider like sibling. Though not sure that should be as then you wouldn’t need meat for spider to attack for you which makes them even cheaper especially if you just plant a bunch of spider eggs at an area you use spiders to fight often like boss arenas or something else.

It would just be their horde like ai Extending to Webber you couldn’t take them anywhere or have any control over them just were any other spider would get

They’re still attacking something that you can somewhat control by getting hit.

No for the same reason as the last idea and I am talking about the second one.

that amount of times sounds weird for spiders to recognize at least to me. But for balancing/gameplay reasons maybe Webber shouldn’t have that skill.

What if I make it so there are only  horde like when it comes to Webber if they have a decorated den Or I could make it where they’re only 10% likely to extend their horde likeness to Weber

Also, I was thinking about doing a thing where Webber would be The leader of the  spider fraction and he’s building his kingdom any ideas for that?

The only time you would use that is on enemies that only aggro on players and non befriended spiders can’t aggro on, which you would probably plant a bunch of spider eggs in a place with those enemies using this skill. Could you give me an example when you would use this how it’s supposed to be used.

Idk how that would work and what that would change so not rn.

So when ever a mob that can attack a regular spider attacks Webber with in range of a spider den when hit theirs a chance that their horde likeness will activate and to make it balanced that chance is 10% 

you may be thinking why 10 of all numbers well it’s because healing glop only has 10% the healing effect on Webber as it has on spiders so it would make sense that certain other things would be 10% of an effect on Webber as it does on on spiders for example this when a spider is attacked there’s a 100% chance that when in range of a den other spiders will attack the attacker but for Webber it’s only 10%

That would only be helpful sometimes in forest or spider inhabited areas assuming you didn’t take all the spider den eggs already, you just started so you don’t have an alchemy engine for armor and weapons, and you’re fighting something that you have trouble with and the spiders only have a chance to help you and then they may try to eat the meat if your fighting something like a pig or a bat. So it would mainly/only be for early game but you also have to get hit to get spiders to help with even more times to get that 10% chance which may mean you’re either at low health if your fighting something like a pig or trying to get hit if you’re fighting something that does little damage assuming spiders attack it.

Do you got any ideas because I want to do something that incorporates their horde like ability

I just found something finally it so Weber can catch hostile insect with his beard and feed them to spiders as power up
For example:

mosquitoes could give spiders a regeneration effect similar to wurt’s bloodshot

i’ve been thinking of possibly making all three items effects more relevant to spiders rather than just a life-giving amulet 

Probably something to do with upgrade versions of the spider types would be like the warrior spawn stand in

probably something using the bee queen crown that flips the sanity auras of spiders ankle or some buffs as the spider queen stand in

any ideas?

Also do you think I should make it so these things affect Weber too in somewhere like maybe being able to use these homemade den things as the and meat effigies and maybe something for the other two

Also, do you think I should make the baby spiders killable but with a respawn mechanic
