Reviewing Wormwood's perks

Looked at some of them, and while some seemed pretty cool, I thought I'd give my opinion in some of the less useful ones (Or straight up useless)

 

Lunar Cultivator I: What the heck do you need carrats for? I get you need a stepping stone for the actually useful ones but it really seems like a waste

Petal Production: Why would I want to get some petals as Wormwood, or in general? Wormwood cannot heal from them and it hardly heals teammates. The only use I see is to activate Sisturns cheaply?

Farm Hand: The entire tree is useless, the only thing this does is save me 1 second in walking 

Fly Trap: Why would I want this, any effect they have can be easily undone if I'm bloomed, or quickly tend to the plants. And why spawn a boss that only drops something useful the first time you kill it.

Mushroom multiplier: At least I don't see the use of planters: greens are good for sanity, but it's Wormwood, so not really necessary, reds are bad for everyone but Wormwood, but there are many much better options, and blues I could see the use, but by the time you set up enough planters the team probably has better options

Poor Sap: At least I don't really use much poop for healing or anything else really. Im a nutrient combo kinda guy. I find it funny that you can give diarreah to animals so I can let it slide

I’ve noticed a few depth worms glow completely which makes me assume they ate one of the glow berries, I want to do a science run to see if they will eat red mushes placed on the ground, and if they will eat a lethal dose. It’s certainly a way to kill time unlocking these, even if it fails. If it succeeds, I want to see if I can make enough to kill multiples in later waves.

I didn't really care much for that side of the skill tree because I hate farming (I think everyone knows this by now, bingus).

It seems to me to be filler to supplement his farming abilities when his farming was already... Good as is for those who use it? 

Petals at least seems to be to produce more manure via pigs or something, or rot.

I don't know much about what he could improve in when it comes to farming if he needs it at all so I will talk about plant related changes I'd like to see.

Changes/additions:

Mushroom spores, they are great and reduce the need for more planters. Plus spores have other uses such as providing light inside mushlamps.

He can create lureplants now but they're still terrible as any sort of defence. Would be great if they at least had some utility like harvest craps for you and not digesting them if wormwood tames one.

He needs an improvement on the compost wrap. This can go on the farm side, possible requiring a vegetable like corn or something. 

He can plant with his bare hands, let him pull out weeds with his bare hands. He's just picking them up to give them a hug so it's ok.

Maybe using the compost wrap to fix his traps and bramble husk.

That's all I got. I'm mostly looking forward to his fighting perks so meh.

They pick up food items off the ground and drop it in front of u :lol:.. at least thats all ive figured out so far. Would be nice if they could pick and bring more stuff.

Yeah i agree sadly. Tending range is conceptually a useless thing to boost. Cuz u can indeed just zoom over ur farmplots to achieve the same thing. Would be amazing if these skills could be swapped for something else..

Theres Tillweed salve. If im not mistaken they have changed wormwood’s interaction with it cuz he gets the full 28 health now. IIRC he used to not get the instant 8 before. 

Someone suggested instead for the skill to periodically plant flowers. This sounds much better and can help others too!

do they drop food in stacks? that could actually be very useful

They can pick up a stack of food and bring it to u but they dont gather individual pieces of food into a stack if u get what i mean. 

They are also not very good workers :lol: they wander a lot between fetch tasks. I thought theyd be nice for gathering up items after breaking a bunch of giant veggies but theyre very slow.

And for some reason they ignore mush caps. (Edit: also honey and rotal jelly)

Maybe they can do something else and idk yet…

OK holy crap

I tested the Brightshade vines against Klaus, and they need a nerf, they dealt so much damage, sometimes 5 spawned off of one hit, way too much damage for the farming character

One thing I noticed is that Klaus's gem deer also target the vines, which seems a bit weird

Considering the fact that the vines are post CC and Klaus is a pretty early-ish boss fight I don’t see the problem here

i think they could be toned down a little teeny bit but not much

im not sure whether they deal planar or normal damage, but it still is so much for a non combat character

I tried it against the Celestial Champion and it also got shredded to oblivion. The only downside is I felt so powerful I forgot to heal and died once. Even for a late game set it's way too much.

Also, does the Syrup of Ipecaca do damage? I just gave one to a pig and he died after pooping like crazy hahahahaha

if I understood correctly, the amount of vines was caused by switching out and back into the brightshade sword, so it probably isnt that much damage

And in regards to the bee queen, it should also be pretty good for leaving the grumble bees away from the bee queen, leaving her exposed, its seems pretty op

And since this is a very late game feature, I think it is kinda nice for wormwood solo plays that wants to kill bosses. 

 

I just wish they change some of the undewhelming/useless perks. This lunar path is really good!
 

Also, I think the brighshade repair kit is really cheap. U can repair brighshade gears from 0 to 100% in one charge lol.  

I have just tested the staff with wormwood perk and is extremely op too

Dows his bloom plant new flowers or does it give him petals directly. If it is flowers, than that's pretty good. Many new players rely on picking flowers for managing sanity.

Or you can just you know, plant some seeds? Sanity management is never an issue for Wormwood

It just puts petals in your inventory

Lightbugs will follow you just like when you have one in your inventory and up to 3 of them will move around you.

When you have  more than 3 they will circle around you in a weird pattern.

 

They despawn when you go in or go out of the caves. The same applies to saladmanders
