Wurt sucked back when she was released (pay to be vegetarian and suck up resources), partly because you had to babysit your merms if you didn’t want them to get permanently stuck somewhere and effectively lose the use of the structure forever. (Which meant that you had to build multiple merm villages if you wanted to fight bosses with them, which meant spending zillions of resources). But now she one of the best late-game characters.
