Or does it also lose durability on top of mannequins? (that'd be so lame, I decorated them with bandanas in the past but never noticed that they spoiled) I've been looking forever for a mod that somehow preserves spoilable gear on mannequins and birds in cages. I want to decorate so badly with all these flower wreaths, watermelon hats, cactus shirts, ice cubes and such! There's one that makes hats not lose durability on followers though, but it's not quite the same. Aa for the birds, I have a nice bird/insect drop storage area and each bird has a dedicated color matching bird cage and chests yet I never bother to place a bird inside because it'd be such a hassle to keep them all alive only for decoration purposes. I love the solution with amberosia. It's simply great and gives this item finally a purpose. Is there any way I could donate you a bit for making this since I kinda requested this feature and you spent your free time making it? Also, if you end up posting this to the workshop, would you be able to also add the non-spoiling food display on crockpots Glooomy mentioned? Or is it harder to code?

Lovens
I hope this is not against this thread's rules as it is still on topic of base design and decorations. I imagine a lot of people here would like to add this to their worlds. I've realized that @grm9 never posted the link to the server mod they made because of my comment in this thread so I present to you: No spoilage on decorations You can now decorate with birds, dishes on crockpots and spoilable clothes on mannequins! Grm9 did a great job at balancing the mod so it won't affect your normal gameplay if you decide to use this for your survival world. You can make a caged bird immortal by feeding it amberosia. Decorative immortal birds then cannot be fed any items - to interact with the bird again you need to take it out of the cage and put it back, which takes away the immortality. Decorative food will only display as non-spoiled when on a crockpot but it won't be preserved forever and will still turn into rot if you take it out of a crockpot. Decorative spoilable clothes won't stay fresh forever for you to wear and will disappear when taken off from mannequins. Finally, as a nice bonus, the Ancient Kiln recipe is available in the crafting menu (alchemy engine tier) and has the exact same cost as a regular crockpot. A little picture I made to showcase all features of the mod: 7

Lovens
Hey there! I finally decided to show my current megabase's kitchen setup! The Kitchen A couple of notes about the location: it's very close to the center of my base so I can access it easily from other parts of the base. Some convenient adjacent builds are: regular crop farm right by it ("north" on the minimap picture) and apiary ("west" of the kitchen). Honorable mention to my huge sanity garden (60 bananas and ~40 cacti in a large green area in the right area of my base) although it's a bit far away from the kitchen. I main Wanda and my main food supply is all the meats I get from killing bosses - therefore I don't have too many meat farms, and I don't care about keeping them close to the kitchen. My pig farm is only 6 pig houses and I keep it for pig skins only, and I stopped picking up meats from my automatic volt goat pens and spider farm. Just killing the 4 Moose Goose every year can alone feed me for the rest of the year lol. To be fair, I could just chug raw meats and not worry about cooking as Wanda but I like to have a nice organized kitchen and food storage. I play on this map mostly solo but sometimes my husband joins (he mostly plays Maxwell but occasionally switches to other characters), and we often hang out in the kitchen area. Overview of the build (I realized it's flipped upside down relatedto the minimap orientation I just posted but whatever): main kitchen on the right, Warly's kitchen on the left, scaled furnace area in the middle. At night (currently with Moon Storms active but it's fully illuminated anyway) The main kitchen: Food bundle storage area for ingredients and bundling wraps: Bottom "entrance" and bird cages. The one on the right is purely decorative, the one on the left is currently empty with a couple of birds bundled in a chest near it. Every time I need to use one, I unwrap another canary, but my husband has a raven he uses instead :P Bananas come in handy when I need a few quick banana shakes or do some Moon Quay business. On the other side: tallbird egg storage and a chest for bundled birds. Scaled furnaces. I put them away from crockpots so I don't overheat when I cook. Hot thermals are in the scaled chest between them, and cold ones are in a nearby fridge. The additional fridge is filled to the brim with emergency ice supply. Besides that, there's at least 1 full fridge of ice in every kitchen, which I sometimes use for Warly's bulk cooking. Warly's kitchen! Every once in a while I switch to him and cook for an entire year and bundle all his food to later use as Wanda. I mainly use volt goat jelly and fish cordon blue, and occasionally glowberry mousse and sweet taffy. But I also like to use him to cook banana shakes and bacon and eggs (my staple diet) in large quantities because it's faster than cooking in regular kitchen. Warly's ingredient storage. No farm crops here because I store them all in a nearby farm area - I'll show it later. Warly's crockpot setup. I have to admit, I sacrificed functionality for design here a bit - the 5 crockpots on the right side are only accessible from the middle fridge and right saltbox, same with the left ones. So I can't access all crockpots from one saltbox at the same time. When I cook with saltbox ingredients, I always split them in half and put each half in its own saltbox, this way I can continue cooking in a circle. So it's not too much inconvenience for me after all. Warly's spice station and storage. The fridge was a very convenient temporary storage for dishes that I'm currently spicing before they added polar bearger bin. I also use this fridge to store some spiced up powdercakes. A storage for bundles with dishes ready to eat. Whenever my polar bearger bin runs out of food, I go here and unwrap a bundle to get new ones. The one marked with pierogi has pretty much everything: meaty stews, bacon and eggs and honey hams, and only a small 40 stack of pierogi nobody ever uses. The only time I opened that bundle was when I wanted to heal Bearger for some reason, and fed him another stack of 40 we had xD Thanks for reading! Bonus picture 1: birch trees turning gold/orange in Autumn, I wish I could make them stay like that always in tree planters! Bonus picture 2: celebrating 6000k days of this megabase by taking a selfie in the kitchen (featuring that year's moose harvest in crockpots)!
Lovens
Crop Farms Hey everyone, I'm back with more stuff from my current megabase I'd like to show. Here's my crop farms and storage area! I placed it as close as possible to the kitchen area where I often use veggies (mostly Warly's kitchen). It's also close to the ocean which is convenient for making growth formulas - I use them in farming and when I switch to Wormwood. I decided to stylize this area as a "Fruit/Vegetable market. The farm plots are in the middle, and the surrounding area got a little "shop" for each crop type, as well as some giant vegetable display. I store all my crops and seeds bundled, and only use the seed backpack when I actually grow something. Fully illuminated at night as well: A close-up of farm plots. I keep them clean from weeds by using a simple trick I learned from my friend: every time I see a weed in spring or autumn, I burn it instead of digging it up. This cancels its spread for a longer time so I only have to do it once or twice a year. For this reason I decided to hide a couple of flingomatics in the build. If fire accidentally spreads and I can't put it out myself, I turn them on by accessing through this gate: I don't like when flingomatics are well-visible in the build so I disguised them with some decorations: The centerpiece of my farm setup: Wickerbottom's book cabinet filled with Horticulture Expanded. I did most of my farming (getting all unique seeds, farming for Warly spices and dishes, all the giants for display in this build) as Wicker. But since Maxwell sometimes joins my map, he can read those as well if I need to farm more crops. I store all my fertilizers in surrounding chests: Here are some close-ups of the market area: One of my brightshade gardens is hiding behind this corner (: Bonus picture 1. A simple trick I learned from Jazzy: Lord of the Fruit flies never bothers me - he resides in a forgotten corner of my map on its own farm plot. Another one won't spawn as long as this one is alive: Bonus picture 2. An epic giant pumpkin harvest I grew recently for one of my builds: Thanks for reading! Might be because I play and take screenshots with color cubes turned off (high lunacy really hurts my eyes and I can't build properly if I have full moons active - all colors look the same). I love how Glooomy's base screenshots look like with warm dusk light but when I take screenshots I just don't have enough dedication to turn off the mod, restart the game, screenshot and then change it all back.
