"The End is Nigh" is poo, buff it please

Besides very specific scenarios of charging Lightning Rods for dear WX and getting volt goat milk, this book needs better degree of control at the very least.
Maybe make the lightning prioritize enemies in combat (with or without insulation gear), or make it deal more damage with each subsequent strike. It's pretty sad to see this book often end up being unused, yet the effect seems pretty cool.

It is also a long lasting light source via lightning rods. She has so many books now, every single one doesn't need to be all encompassing and meta defining.

And that has become ridiculously redundant because of the two new books straightforwardly summoning light without jumping through extra hoops and hurdles. The book needs purpose that all players can grasp - summoning lightning which sets everything on fire and hurts the player is just a huge "DO NOT CRAFT ME" banner.
It needs a bit more of something, maybe an upgrade to offense. It does not necessarily have to get to the point of pandering to "meta", it simply needs a reason to be used more often than during incredibly specific scenarios.

When do you use the grow crops book other than when you want to grow crops? Useless book, I hate farming, it should have Wickerbottom stride on leaves with a 20% movement speed buff so it isn't only used in 1 incredibly specific scenario.

Look, I get that you are extremely experienced in the game and think about much more advanced stuff. What I am trying to say is that the book purposes should be comprehensible to all types of players and have a general application, from which you can stem to other clever things.
Crop book grows food, and food means no starving, which is what the title of the game asks you to do.
What do you think of when you hear the first time about a book that summons lightning? Surely a lot of folks think it has something to do with its destructive capabilities, something to use for combat! But no, apparently it's only useful to light up a metallic spaghetti that gives 1 centimeter of light, competing with, again, 2-3 new books that do this but in a better way.

well, we do have 2 books specifically for light and 1 book for full moons, so there's certainly options.

You can also use a lantern for light too. Or a miner's hat. Bulbous light bugs, moggles, torches, and a magiluminesence too. Lot of options.

And a bunch of birds that fly away before you can even kill them is useless. Even if you could kill them food is easy to come by. And creating tentacles? That is literally an enemy why would I want that? Making rain? That just makes me lose sanity, no thanks. Sleepytime stories? More like, I can just walk away from danger and nothing can stop me from doing that. Why would I need horticulture abridged when the crops already grow on their own? 

Klei pls buff all of Wickerbottom's books. None of them do anything I couldn't already do and they all require me to think.

I have the absolute craziest suggestion for end is nigh change.. this book can be seen as very harmful trolling to other human players due to the strobe effect flashing of light known to cause physical seizures to some people- HOWEVER what I want to purpose is something new.. something unique, but also still let’s her harness the powers of lightning.

what if she had like a one way boomerang wave effect (pretty much about the same colors as Webbers nurse spiders doing the healing ground pound attack) she could fling out this wave of lightning to charge mobs or structures with electricity.. such as Volt Goats, Lightning Rods, WX78, Winona’s Generators, Boat Canons.. you name it.

Now why did a specifically mention boat canons? Well.. there’s an autopilot device in the game for boats now which are technically like magnets that pull boats toward one another, and if Wicker was able to fire out an Arch of lightning to hit a canon on a boat that’s being autopiloted behind the one she’s driving.. she could effectively trigger firing a canon from a distance.

OR combining Birds of The World with Sleepy Time Stories and the End is Neigh would land birds on screen, put them to sleep then send out a tidal wave of lightning turning them all into cooked morsels.

And sorry @Scrimbles It would still require reading the library books you despise so much and claim bring nothing to her character.

As you see, all these books have actual uses unlike The End is Nigh!. It fell from grace after the WX rework. No one except you is having a blast with it by charging the lightning rods for a tiny circle of light. No one is saying that The End is Nigh! needs to be a meta defining book. People just want it to be a little more useful.

All of that requires thinking and none of it accomplishes anything that can't be done without the books.

I think if you were to be even slightly good faith reading this post, you'd see that OP is saying that The End is Nigh does not hold up in terms of efficacy compared to the other books. I highly doubt they're advocating for it to be meta defining. In fact, they said otherwise.

If you read my post- the TL:DR of that is to let the End is Nigh work in COMBINATION to other books..

Birds of the World + Sleepy Time + End is Nigh = Cooked Morsels..

Or now that she can pretty much summon frog rain, she can do Abigail’s job with End is Nigh.

The book just needs to be changed to fry small mobs into cooked morsels/frog legs

Yeah but that is a really elaborate way to get a benefit from the lightning book. If you use all three books at once, you lose 116 sanity for a handful of morsels. You better off using only BotW and STS for morsels (and feathers since they turn into ash if you use tEiN) and cook the morsels afterwards. And you don't have to worry about electrocuting yourself accidentally.
