Mega-Poll: What changes do people want for the characters they main

Hi,

Took a while, but I finally managed to compile the answers from this previous thread:

I asked "What do you main?" and mentioned I had "something" planned

And this is that "something":

Around 65 messages sent, out of which 50 people have replied

The question I asked: "What changes would you like to see for the character you main?"

 

All the messages received I have compiled in a huge note, and the suggestions will be available via polling.

Sadly, I tried to have it all in one thread, but the poll limit does not allow it (only 5 questions per thread).

I have basically selected all the serious players for each character in one fell swoop.

The poll wasn't even multiple choice on purpose.

It was my plan all along.

 

So now I am adding all of the replies for all characters into a huge poll, for everyone to vote on and discuss.

 

Feel free to share this thread for a larger sample size.

Hope this info can be useful to Klei, as the recent Wurt QoL changes showed what is possible.

No matter, I will persist and compile a thread for each character, where each enthusiastic enjoyer of said character can discuss at length and vote inside. I will be linking each thread in this post below for ease of access. Be patient.

Each thread will have the title "Poll: What changes would you like to see for [Character], if any"

And will have two questions:

1. Would you like to see changes to [Character]? (single choice)

• No, the character is perfect already
• No, the character is fine as is
• Yes, but only some QoL changes
• Yes, some new mechanics would be nice
• Yes, and I would love to see a full rework

2. [Character] changes: (multi-choice)

• [Choices from the "What do you main" thread replies]
• I don't like any of the above options
• Something else (comment below)

It would be even better if you included DS exclusive characters in the poll. I, for example, have some thoughts about Wilba rebalance in case she was added to DST.

Also people who don't have 1 character they "main", but rather "main" a pool of characters can also have some ideas worth putting in the appropriate polls.

I will be considering that in the future, but DS character ports are a bit far off from what I can tell.

believe me i have suffered as you have, too

 - 20 choices per poll *question

 - no input options for (Other) choices, or convenient drag downs, or even an option where you can write an essay to kingdom come as a choice
 - no limit for choices for a respondent, it's all or one lmao
 - oh right speaking of, no in depth results data analysis save for the bar graph you have to get all the numbers and work from there (which is also why i don't take my polls too seriously lmao)

The whole idea of this was to gather vote data, was really interested to see the data, after all that work discussing with 50 people via DMs

Was really sad to see polls were limited to 5 questions (with 20 options each)

But vote data mean almost nothing to what people actually want because some people just don't vote but comment instead, and some might change their mind after they vote so that why I think it dumb.

Here are some interesting findings about the character polls, since so many threads are linked here it almost crashed my browser trying to open them all. I'll try to give a summary so far.

 

tl;dr:

Wilson: People both want a rework and would hate a rework

Willow: People would like some new mechanics for her (around fire?), and some QoL changes for bear like bernie in enlightenment and bernie following you better

Wanda: People would like some QoL just to rename backtreks. Any other changes to wanda will be met by force.

Walter: People want slingshot speed, campfire stories, and more cohesive perk set.

Wurt: People still want a few more QoL on Wurt, like both shard merm king, and temperature while wet

Wortox: People would want wortox to sense health, heal beefs and mobs, cheaper soul hop (utilizing health instead?)

Winona: People seem to want rework or new mechanics like packing generators, and people want to pause generators

Wormwood: People want to reset traps while blooming

Warly: People want some changes to his food system and recipes, and some "selfish" perks

Webber: People want some QoL, like reduced spider lag and volume, spiders despawning with webber

Wigfrid: People dont want many changes, maybe a buff to underused songs like fireproof falsetto, or a music book that holds songs

Maxwell: Majority of people want a rework, and people are a fan of being able to store shadow puppets, and having maxwell use magic items better, and maybe some better shadows control

Woodie: People want some QoL changes, the main one being able to wear a necklace that prevents transformation on full moon. Other changes people seem to like idea of buffing beaver and goose forms slightly, and making axes/lucy deal good damage to treeguards.

Wicker: Majority of people want a wicker rework, and some seem to welcome being unable to read at 0 sanity, while others would hate that. People seem to like a rain book, and a way for wicker to write blueprints on the go as a game mechanic.

WX: People want more future content circuits and things to scan, and some QoL like right click deploy for jimmy. Some people still are nostalgic about begging for more circuit slots.

Wendy: People would welcome some QoL changes, but nothing more. Highest vote new mechanic is abigail regenning faster while unsummoned, and a nerf to abigail damage buff to her while on beefalo (or a removal of the damage buff for her to keep her weak in exchange for abigail as she was first designed)

Wolfgang: People would like some QoL, and the main changes liked are removing interruptions from transformations (like wanda) and allowing lifting dumbbells on the go (for less effect)

Wes:

Randoming: People seem to like to not be naked and have skins while randoming a char

Additionally, I realized I can recycle these threads for future, as I have 3 more slots for polls for each character if need be (max poll questions is 5) to add more options and suggestions. Think of it like "Round 2", without having to spam forum main page again, or bump each thread (editing poll options doesn't bump afaik). These threads are also good channels of discussion targeted at each character, so feel free to use them.

Warly's chef pouch more interesting, pretty sure @Pig Princess has posted their idea on one of your previous posts, I added onto it but essentially, add variants of it, and slightly buff it's default one i guess. Literally no one uses the chef pouch after like day 3, especially since you don't spawn with it.
