At that point would it even be considered a QoL anymore??? Or would it be one of those 3 “Setting The Stage” game content updates? Previous QoLs have done things like reducing crafting costs of Bat Bat, Marble Armor, Removing Rabbit Earmuffs from needing to prototype and adding starting resources, griefing protection, more settings for World Gen, that sort of stuff. I think the problem there is that I'm not sure what's left to give the QoL treatment. Pretty much every underpowered item's gotten a look-over and an adjustment. And I'm not sure where else they could go. Other than, Y'know, A craft UI update. But is that going to be the whole thing? Wormwood already has a pretty loaded kit, cactus picking armor and weird tooth traps are just a nice cherry on top. Owlrust Posted February 9, 2022 Share Posted February 9, 2022 It's pretty scary to think what Klei could do for the QoL update that would change the way you play the game. All it takes is one minor adjustment to drastically impact the way people play the game, resulting in a kind of "snowball effect". If they change how ai pathing works for example, destroying walls or most structures that impede the path of mobs, then most farms become impossible to keep up without them being free-range. Make mobs attack while moving and suddenly kiting isn't as reliable in a fight. Make survivors vomit when they eat too much, and now suddenly Honey Poultice and Healing Salves become the best forms of healing while mass-producing healing foods become either obsolete or require rot to be paired with. I'm all for it though, regardless of what Klei chooses to do, I'm all for more impactful gameplay. I hate the current craft UI in DST, you have to scroll for so long and the scrolling is horribly slow too... pair that up with dozens of mods which add dozens of new crafting recipes and it becomes a NIGHTMARE to use DST's crafting tab as you may literally have to scroll for a solid 30 seconds to find what you want to make. When you have a lot of mods too it actually also LAGS the craft ui so it makes scrolling even slower ... Also, it would be nice if they make it so you can have crafting recipes with more than 3 items and the item icons don't start going off the crafting recipe's overlay. Being able to favorite crafting recipes would be awesome as well! I also seen this post of a modder in the past even had a cool idea too! Spoiler If there was just a way to have a tiny button which toggles the crafting tab to look like this it would save so much time and no need to scroll endlessly anymore... a small search bar would be nice too which could pop-up only when you have the crafting tab open. I would also like a button to toggle hiding/showing the crafting tab. It might just be, but I prefer having my screen not being very cluttered and having the crafting tab always be on the screen just bugs me since you aren't using it all the time. So, a button to toggle it appearing or not would be nice ! If this was the case I would finally use the Open Crafting button, and since they implemented Mouse 4 & 5 support, my mouse has been needing some buttons assigned to it.
