Hornete Posted April 29, 2021 Share Posted April 29, 2021 I've recently been playing Willow during the beta and something I found is that bernie is pretty much useless during the moonstorm/champion(lunacy in general), which I found to be really saddening since one of her main perks is essentially stripped away from her, Imagine if other characters got a main perk of theirs just stripped away by simply going in the moonstorm/lunar islands. A simple fix would be to allow Bernie to go big when enlightened and Gestalts will target him. Willow might as well 'suffer' in this update. After all given Champion's aoe attacks bernie would be pretty useless anyway Crops still have some uses for Wigfrid, and even if she can't use them for eating, her main perks are still there for players to happily use(Hp/sanity gain when attacking, songs, battle armor and weapons) Bernie is literally stripped away from Willow and can do nothing except provide a little bit of sanity and insulation in moon storm/lunar islands, and besides bernie, what else does she have? She can actually still benefit by getting ingredients for specific recipes, such as Veggie Burger. Enlightenment extends way past the Champion. The entire set of lunar islands, the lunar grotto, the moonstorm and Alter's full moons are all cases where Willow's completely unable to use Bernie. I think it's pretty lame for a main character perk to be taken away completely in these scenarios. It would feel incredibly odd to have Bernie active [in the same way] due to the polar opposite effect imo. That said, it could be fun if he was given an alternative use while enlightened—what that use may be I don't know , but I don't think it should reflect his 'insanity use' one for one. If you wanted to play opposites then maybe instead of aggroing he would repel Gestalts instead. Shrug. Are the characters not insane but in a weird way protected from nightmares due to gestalts fending them off? This should be more of a "bonus" perk imo. Where Willow is stronger in the presence of low enlightenment because she is both normal and has BERNIE!
