Yup, unfortunately to say, despawning pirate boats will delete containers on them, due to the nature of backpacks technically being unable to go within inventories, they wouldn't be able to go into the Pirate Stash. It's not a bug.

This was a 'stealth' change/fix done a few months after Moon Quay's release I believe. Alas!

i though they removed the despawn mechanic from pirate boats cuz people liked the design

i could swear i have one in the middle of the ocea that never despawned

is there a requirement to make pirate boats not despawn or i just dreamed it?

Ah! I had read wrong, I assumed the pirates tied to that boat were still alive.

Indeed that's an issue then! It should be the case for them to not despawn once all monkeys tied to the boat are killed off, but honestly, it barely works like half of the time for me, haha.

How do the creatures of the Constant know English?

Not only do The humanoid mobs speak English like Pigs, Bunnymen and Pearl, but alot of the bosses speak English too. Like the ancient Fuelweaver, Nightmare Were-pig and the newly added Frostjaw.

But like... English is a man-made language. So how do these mobs, that don't know anything about Humans or Earth, know how to speak a language that was invented there?

Two answers I can think of

1. Gameplay purposes,.if the pigs were speaking pig Latin instead kf English it would take away from the readability of their actions, and the overall charm of their dialogue

2. Maxwell ingrained knowledge of the English language in nearly every single sentient species in the constant.

I guess that makes sense. That would also explain why all Merms (besides Wurt) don't know English

For reference: Maxwell's quote for Merms is “they were there when I got here”

I also have another question

Why does Alter reward you with affinities for defeating CC?

With Charlie, it makes sense why she'd reward you for killing FW. After all, the Fuelweaver's motive is to stop you from opening rifts to let stronger nightmares into the constant

But why would alter reward you for killing the Celestial Champion? As far as we know, CC works for Alter

In most skill trees, it is Wagstaff that rewards you (the cryptid founder), the only exception is Wormwood, that "taps into his lunar roots".

Ah, that makes sense. Thank you!

The candy from the Hallowed Nights event is cute until you want to farm gold from pig king. I'm just waiting for the event to end so I can avoid generating an avalanche of useless candies lol. Is there any way around this?

You can disable the event in world settings before loading the world if I am not mistaken.

you cant disable it if its still on by default. since the event option is only- default or -always.

You can use the Action Queue Reborn mod to shift+double click a piece of gold, which will queue a pickup action for every other piece of gold. As far as vanilla options go, you can get pigs/werepigs to eat the candy, or if you just want to get the gold you can place moleworms around pig king to collect the gold and then dig up their burrows

i hope it doesn't make them poop because that would be A LOT of poop :wilson_ecstatic:

4 out of 14 candy types produce poop

or use lazy forager or maxwell's clones, they only have one inventory slot so they'll keep picking up the items of the type that they picked up first, so spawn them on top of a single gold and wait for them to give it all to you after their inventory gets filled

Where do Deerclops and Bearger come from?

Let me explain

MooseGoose and Dragonfly arrive on the mainland by flying there

Antlion just digs her way up

Bees feed royal jelly to a Bee to turn her into a Bee queen

But what about Deerclops and Bearger? They're nowhere to be found on the map until they just... Appear one day

We know they can't swim either.. So... Where do they come from?

Maxwell used to paddle them over in a little rowboat. Charlie does it now.

Is there an aporkalypse only in hamlet because, well, the island is technically closer to the sky therefore closer to the moon, THEREFORE causing an eclipse know as the aporkalypse. Which is why we don't hear about it in DST ? I kinda want to point this, because, this event, is the key for shadow creatures to attack the lunar side (I also want to see ancient herald again huhuhu)
