Actually all of my real life friends I've introduced DST to, declined continue playing after their first or second playthrough because it was "too stressfull". What can be better than a relaxing afternoon while you talk about memes over discord, build a community camp, think of how great the world would be if we'd all collaborate just like in this game, and then go jog for a while happily chased by shadow monsters and hounds, enjoy the decorative snowflakes and ice covering the corners of your screen during winter, have deep hindsight moments once the pitch black darkness covers you after you realize you have no light source, and find short but intense friendships with other players that save you from the darkness by burning your entire camp.
