FantasticMoose
Since you're asking. Amalgamator is a HORRIBLE name for something that does the exact opposite of amalgamating.
nakomaru
Unamalgamator is playful and accurate, but I'd take deamalgamator as a compromise. The rest are on point. It makes sense to polish before release now that features are decided. Green/red lets you be very clear when instructing. (It's how I wrote a memory toggle tutorial several months ago.) Beefsteak is appropriately silly. Asking it the other way, what other things should be name changed to be more playful/immersive?
metallichydra
for some reason i cannot edit the topic, so here's some i missed: ranching ---> husbandry dr. mcclintock ---> dr. bausgaard (im sorry, i cant remember the names)
Loscil2
Hexalant sounds industry-like. Amalgamator? Did Klei hired Dr. Doofenshmirtz? Green / red should be on/off or activated/deactivated. This sounds like upper management said "you know we should make this more layman friendly, why don't we associate colors to binary states so its easier?" Sasza22
Soo... is there a funcionallity change comming to the amalgamator? Are we going to get new recipies for it? Name changes before were focused on removing confusion (algae deoxydizer -> algae diffuser; Storage compactor -> storage bin) even the name change of the lead scientist in the lore was meant to avoid confusion. I just can`t fit this change into it. (unless it means a funcionallity change is comming).
nakomaru
Didn't even realize they were called bins now! Amalgamator has to simply be the result of some kind of miscommunication, clerical error, or brain injury. I hope everyone is well at Klei.
